Plus perfect

"Plus kvamperfekt" is a name for the tense used to describe that actions or states were completed, before
something else happened.

Plus quam perfect, from the Latin plus quam perfect, "more than completed".

I had eaten before Bengt arrived.

This tense is formed with the auxiliary verb "had" and a main verb in the theme form supinum.

Examples of past perfect:

had played
had painted
had cycled
had been able to
had stolen

Sentences with verbs in the past tense:

We went to Spain last year, but the Nilssons had already been there.
We camped on Öland last summer, because they had built a new sauna there.
He had just eaten when Sture arrived.
They built the house themselves, but had received the blueprints beforehand.
Olle fished all last summer, because he and his brother had bought new equipment in the spring.

Write down sentences and use different verbs that are in the past perfect tense.
