Communication and the purpose of an Organization
What is the goal of communication?
Communication is a process that allows all living things to transfer information, be it ideas, needs,
problems, or emotions. The goal of the communication is to increase understanding between people
and groups. This allows for less problems and issues as people would be able to aid those around
them.

The Purpose of Organizations

Organizations are large groups of people that operate together towards a single goal. They are
useful because they allow for the objective to be reached more efficiently. If one person wants to
sell water it would be difficult for them to reach a lot of people and it is easier for them to become
exhausted or drop their plan altogether. But, if they employ maybe 6 other people to also sell
water then they would be able to reach many more people and gain greater profit.

Better Workplace
Relationships
To foster an alliance, the kind of communication that needs to be utilized is Interpersonal
Communication.

Interpersonal Communication is the process of exchanging information between two or

more individuals whether through verbal or non-verbal ways.

When we use communication to build a rapport with co-workers, and customers, we are
able to gain a greater understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and ideas. For example, if
an organization sought to provide a specific product, they would take their employees', as
well as the consumers, opinions into account. These opinions could help shape how the
product is improved, marketed, and thereby, accepted by the public.
Increased

Teamwork: the ability of

In the example above, it is shown that without the
foundation of relationships, teamwork will not be

Employee Attitude Churchill

This web of communication allows for improved morale. For example, if you are in a
lesson and it is lacking engagement, once the teacher allows individuals to work with
their friends and colleagues, there is greater understanding which promotes a more
positive attitude.

It is the same in the workplace. When co-workers can collaborate and bounce
ideas off one another, their positivity skyrockets which allows them to have more
creativity.

Furthermore, because of this communication, co-workers can place more trust on

one another, allowing for an organization to get closer to its goal.
Enhanced Innovation &
Creativity
Whether you're producing goods or whether you're simply providing services, creativity
is crucial to the workplace.

The innovation that takes place within a

company depends greatly on the relationships
colleagues have with one another. When
creativity is high, the organization is able to
produce better services and products for
its consumers than when it is low. And this
results in a higher demand for products which
leads to greater sales. These sales allow for the
company to reach its goal.
The Goal Achieved
We've explored how an organization can use specific strategies to achieve its overall
objective, and explored the benefits.

By developing these steps to promote effective communication, we can be sure that it is

very probable that the organization's goals will be achieved.

This is the process of communication exemplified through the exchange of the information
between the many senders and receivers in a network of organizational communication.
