NARRATIVE REPORT IN RESEARCH PAPER


Research is diligently inquiry or examination to seek or revise facts, principles,
theories, applications, etc; laborious or continued search after truth. As a grade 12-
student we are able to comply the requirement in Practical Research I, II and Inquiries
Investigations and Immersion. From the day that research was being introduced to us I
have learned a lot. I thought it was easy until the day that I didn’t anticipated that I cry
for help from those person who has an expertise in terms of research. The only thing
that comes to my mind whenever I am making research is the word careful. Why the
word careful? Careful, because every piece of word you put in the research paper you
need to think twice if this is appropriate. There are so much things I have learned in our
research paper that could be an advantage in our different fields in the future.

From choosing on what should be the title of your research you need to
brainstorm well in order to come up to the best title and that topic you wanted to take is
quite related to your track as a Senior High School. Like if you are an Academic Track
student you should brainstorm a topic that is more related to academic. There are so
much thing needed to consider when choosing a topic. It should not be general specific
will do. You need also to think if the topic you choose has a variety of resources when it
comes to books, journals, websites, foreign thesis and dissertation, local thesis and
dissertation. So, if you have those you can work easily with it since it was present on
those portals.

When it comes to Chapter 1, I have learned that you need to make an


introduction to your problem and claim you acquire in different portals you need to
acknowledge those for you to not be assault to plagiarism. Also those claims you get
will support your research. In Statement of the Problem you should formulate a question
according to the topic you have and you need to seek its answer to formulate a
conclusion. Scope and Delimitation, it talks about the focus of the study, in this part the
scope respondents are selected and the delimited. While on the Significance of the
Study stated the beneficiaries of the study where you should come up from most
beneficial to least beneficial. On References, since APA is present to the computer and
laptops it is easy to make an APA style of referencing.
The lesson that I have learned in the Chapter are the following; first in the
Related Literature, in the first paragraph formulate an introduction. And on the
succeeding paragraphs it is the related literature like books, journals and etc. and at the
end of the paragraphs you need to put up a contrast and comparison to the present
study if it has a direct relationship. The related literature should be from most important
to least important. On sorting the related literature it should be time bound for your
research to be validated. Using of transitional words can make the paragraphs much
appealing to read. When it comes to Related Studies it should be five foreign research
or dissertation from most related to least related as well as the local studies. Also in
every studies the researcher needed to formulate a comparison and contrast. In
Synthesis of the State- of –the Art it provides a significant and relevant information to
present the study. While on Gap Bridged By the Study it is where the study aims to fulfil
the perception about the certain topic that others studies can’t showcase. In Theoretical
Framework it showcases the theories that could be a foundation of the research. In
every theory you need to give its meaning and expand it as well as the two succeeding
theory. In the Theoretical Framework the researchers should provide a paradigm that
explains the theories. Every shape should be in equal size and the arrow should be
exactly pointed to the next shape. Conceptual Framework, in this part the theories and
the questions in the statement of the problem should inter correlated on how the
theories can help to address the problems. Also, the Conceptual Framework should
present a paradigm. The Definition of Terms, it presents the definitions from the title and
from the Statement of the Problem. The definition are defined conceptually and
operationally. It should be in alphabetical form.

In Chapter 3 I have learned the research methodology that the study used. In
Research Method I have learned that you should use a method that suits the study. In
the Sources of Data you should include where you primary and secondary get the data.
The respondents are the primary source while the books, online portals, journals,
publications, magazines theses and dissertations are the secondary sources. When it
comes to Population and Sampling the Slovins Formula should be use. In Research
Instruments, it showcases the instrument that you might use like checklist, interviews
and other types of instruments. Research Procedures, in this part the process that you
undertake from asking a permission to the School Head to administer the data
gathering. In Statistical Treatment of Data the researchers need to use statistical tools
for the data to be computed accurately.

In Chapter 4, I have learned a lot. Chapter 4 is basically describes the analysis of


data followed by a discussion of the research findings. In this part our group experience
to have an overnight for us to finish it since it has a deadline. Chapter 4 needed to be
analysed from the instrument being used and every statement needed to have a claim
to support the study. If the data is present it is easy to analyse it but if not it is quite
hard. Every research presents an intervention to address the problem.

On the final Chapter, it discusses the summary of findings, conclusions and


recommendations based on data analysed from the Chapter 4. After the Chapter five
the research presents a bibliography, it is the compilation of all the references from
Chapter 1- 4. Bibliography was sorted out according type like books, websites, journals
and publications, blogs, unpublished theses and dissertations. Also you need to insert
the Appendices like the letter to the school head and the instrument that being used in
the study. Last one that needed to insert is the curriculum vitae it presents the
information about the researchers.

All of these lessons that I have learned in the research will be my advantage
when I step up in higher education. This will help me to make my own thesis in my field
in the future. Since I want to be a teacher my experience on doing research it is a big
help for me. From the day one that it was being introduced to us the first thing that
comes in my mind is “I need to do this in order for me to takes its advantage in the
future”. Every time we need to finish a part in our thesis I set in my mind that if nobody
care for our thesis who would be the one? So, since I am the leader of our group the
responsibilities take charge on me. On doing the research my decision making skills
enhances because, the decision is all in me the decision of the group depends on me.
So I need to decide what is best for my group. In doing the research managing the
group is the hard part since we are compose of 16 members. Our adviser did not
consider us to have overnights but, since there are lots of things to be done our thesis
we decided to have overnights even though it is not advised to us. In our every
overnights I have learned the word patience, patience for waiting the internet connection
for us to research. There are times that we waited until midnight but then we’d waits for
nothing. But all those hardships that we had experience is worth it. Until now I am still
learning the research since learning has no ending.
