X Project-based and/or Publishable: Students are completing projects to demonstrate their learning
and the projects can be shared outside of the classroom. This objective could be reached by
displaying the project on the school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom
blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an outside source.

Lesson idea implementation:

As a class, we will have an open discussion to talk about a time when they felt rejected or
unequal. Then we will do a moving activity, where I will tell them if they have a blue shirt,
they must sit on the left side of the classroom and if you have a green shirt on sit on the right
side of the classroom. While showing the segregation demonstration I will also tell them if
you are wearing a blue shirt you cannot use the books and pencils only people wearing a
green shirt. Then we will talk about how that made them feel. Then we will move into “The
Story of Jim Crow Presentation”. Lastly, I would ask how they can make sure everyone around
them can feel equal and included, or if there were rules that seem too unfair to them.

Managing the technology/engagement: Describe a way to use this technology in a way that
gets students actively involved in authentic tasks and contexts? How will you manage the
classroom behaviors on the technology:
To get my students actively involved in using PowerPoint presentation, I could use this in any
subject. To get them excited about using it for the first time I will let them explore the different
activities they can do on Power Point. Then I would let them create a story about anything that
they are interested in.

Co-use/Co-engagement
To implement co use I will allow my students to pair and share, go into groups with partners to
bounce ideas off of each other and to work together
Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
My tool supports representation by having audio for people who may be vison impaired and
captions for people who may be hearing impaired.

Reflecting on enhanced learning:

This will impact students’ learning by allowing them to be creative, deepen their technical
skills, and to be great writers. This will also help them to understand, to make sure everyone
can enjoy their work whether they have disabilities or not. Lasty, this lesson will give them an
insight on a time in American history, where everyone was not treated fairly.
