Online course New Space Economy: Technologies, Products, Services and Business Models
From Traditional Space to

The Next Frontier

As an economic model, traditional space The New Space economy is global,

could be described as centralized, national, entrepreneurial, and, most importantly,

and bureaucratic. It was essentially limited accessible. It is increasingly diversified

to state-run courses with limited numbers of and expanding with private players across a

public and private partnerships. variety of sub-sectors.

There is a truly astronomical growth in funding and investment.

This has been made possible because the New Space economy is finally

connecting to the larger global economy.

3
Online course New Space Economy: Technologies, Products, Services and Business Models
There are two different approaches to developing
space projects. Traditional space consists of
highly ambitious missions developed under very
established, rigorous processes in order to
minimize risks and ensure mission success. This
is due to the high launch costs and typical high
price tags of those missions.

New Space is experimenting with new ways of

developing products and taking more risks in the
process of doing so in order to advance faster,
while using commercial technology, and
implementing new business models

I appreciate how the course was
structured to emphasize how the New

effective and the material was
informative. I am definitely paying more
