To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Allyson McMacken and I am writing to be considered as a student teacher

candidate in your district. I am a fourth-year student at South Dakota State University majoring
in Early Childhood Education Cooperating with Dakota State University. I am excited to begin
student teaching this coming Fall as it will be a final step of my teacher preparation program.

My skills and experience have prepared me to be an exceptional student teacher for your
school district. I have developed a diverse skill set that includes effective communication,
strategic planning, and innovative problem solving. I am extremely passionate about making
learning engaging and interactive for students so that I can watch them grow and become
successful learners. My coursework at SDSU and DSU has provided me with the ability to create
engaging and interactive lessons throughout all subjects. Including, Math, Reading, Writing,
Social Studies, and Science. I am excited to take what I have learned throughout my last four
years of school and apply it to my student teaching experience.
