Essential Food Bag Distribution Proposal Date: 1 November 2023

Essential Food Bag Distribution project is a program organized by Food Aid Foundation to support
underprivileged communities with essential food supplies. Essential food items include rice, cooking
oil, flour, oats and may also include other essential items such as face masks to the B40 families who
were badly affected by the pandemic or disasters such as flood. On a monthly basis, FAF receives
around 30-50 food aid requests from the underprivileged communities. Besides, essential food items
are also needed by 130+ welfare homes supported by FAF, including orphanages, elderly homes,
people with disabilities, as well as single parents, refugee and orang-asli communities. Although the
country is undergoing an endemic period, many families still struggle since last pandemic due to price
hikes in food prices and living costs. As a food bank this is our duty to support and help them to ease
their condition.

Project objective:
• To distribute essential food bag aid to welfare home
Beneficiaries:
• Welfare home around Klang Valley

Key activities:
• Food bag packing and distribution (non-perishable)
Usage of funds:
• Funds will be utilized to purchase non-perishable food products for the food bags.

No. of Recipients: 5 welfare homes (20 bags per home)
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES:
Food bag 1. All food items will be purchased and prepared by FAF.
2. Representatives from donor are welcome to join any of the
food packing and distributing sessions.

Itinerary:

08.45 am – Volunteer arrival at Food Aid Foundation.

09.00 am– Briefing.
09.15 am– Start food bag packing.
11.00 am – Finish packing (Welfare home will come and collect)
12.00 am – Program ends.
