ABSTRACT
The advancement of the technology helps the people on their daily lives. As the
technology advance the way of the people, communicate advances too with the usage of
mobile phones. This device allows the people to communicate faster and better. As per

Introduction
Mobile phones are used for many purposes, such as connecting with peers, for
conducting business and in order to access in an emergency. Other people owns more
than one mobile phone for different uses like the other one is for business and the second
one is for personal use or for video games and storing photos or files.
Furthermore, mobile phones are handy that people can use it wherever they go,
especially when someone have internet connection or enough battery to enjoy it, most
likely the teenagers or the youth. Nowadays mobile phones are very essential to them,
such as for educational purposes, for entertainment, to socialize each other and many
more.
mobile phones turn into smartphones which is like a mini computer with a lot of
functionalities. Additionally, not only the mobile phones were developed significantly
also the way of communicating and socializing to one another, but people became
isolated into their own tiny world on their phones, separating themselves to the reality.
“An average person spends four years of his/her life looking down at a cellphone. . .
It is true nowadays that people spend their precious time looking down to their
mobile phone, cellphone and/or smartphone for a particular reason. For example,
someone expected to have a warm and lovely conversation with their family in dinner.
He/she took his/her seat; the other family member is busy with in their own business on
their phones. Instead of communicating to one another the family is isolated on their
phones.
In this case, someone and their family are not building a good relationship and a
healthy lifestyle at the same time which can also imply in any kind of relationship, if
there will be no communication or interaction will happen. People tend to spend time on
their phone rather than having quality time within their family and peers.
Some toddlers who were introduced to mobile phone or related gadgets at very
young age might also affect their social skills, and rather than playing outside with other
kids. “Instead of learning the essential communication skill of talking to someone face-
to-face and looking them in the eye, kids are accustomed to just looking at a screen and
texting someone,” Sara Graham (2014). For some parents it is not kind of a big deal for
their child to access mobile phones at very young age. Over time these kids may have
difficulty talking or communicating to another person for the reason that they grew with
mobile phones.
Mobile phones can also maintain or strengthen relationship. For example, a close
member in someone’s family was working abroad and they can update on each other
through the use of mobile phone and maintain relationship. By this new medium it aids in
Thus in this research the researchers will learn the importance and/or role of
mobile phones in connecting and communicating with other people outside the screen.
The researchers pursued the given study to know the impact of mobile phones to
the social life of the people. The generation to today are technologically advance and
since the people are born while the technology is advancing this generation are mostly
focused on their phones causing them to isolate themselves within the screen of their
Mobile phones, smartphones, or mobile phones are very useful for many people’s
busy lives, as people can simply send a text message to relay information or send an
email quickly to achieve the same goal as we would communicate in person (Gladden,
2018). These devices are popular with people because of the applications they deliver.
their daily work, people enjoy a lot of benefits. Some of the advantages smartphones
offer – better means of communication, learning opportunities for users, a great deal of
exposure to the latest developments, ways to develop personalities, simple ways to access
applications, business success ideas, platforms to expand their applications and more.
Smartphones provide a unique way of improving the quality of education. The use
of the Internet has become part of every student's life. The Internet and Smartphones –
provide an alternative channel for providing education and distance learning services.
With the advent of Mobile's, the social life has changed drastically and this area
has experienced most of the impacts of mobile use (Sarwar and Soomro, 2013).

Research Design
The study allows the researchers to have a thorough analysis of the HUMSS 11 A
students’ views, so the researchers agree to use a qualitative approach to perform this
data that serve as evidence for their distilled descriptions. Qualitative data are gathered
primarily in the form of spoken or written language rather than in the form of numbers.
Possible resources of data are interviews, finding, records and artifacts of participants.
For analytical usage, the data are typically translated into written text. Interviews design
involves purposive and iterative strategies. Interview data processing requires knowledge
of the essence of self-reports, and the relationship between experience and language
expression. It takes advanced skill and time to produce interview data of adequate breadth
and depth. This deals with the development of useful data from other sources. And as per

According to Etikan and Bala (2017) Output the sampling design is based on the
researcher's judgment as to who will provide the best information for the purpose study to

conducting the research needs to focus on those people who have the same opinion.

Participants
The researchers choose the HUMSS 11 A students over other sections because the
students have an experience in social life and they are the one who excel in the categories
that the researchers needed and likely to know their social life when it comes to mobile
phones. The students’ experiences in social life are significant for the researchers’ study

questioners, and voice recorder. The questioners provide questions that help the
researchers to attain the answers that the participants will be provided, by this the
researchers see the perspective of HUMSS students. Voice recorder helps the researchers
to review the given answer of the participants if there was an error while conducting the
interview.
The researchers use questionnaires and interview the participants with these
following questions:
1. In your own opinion, how do mobile phones help you in terms communicating?
2. What do think is/are the benefit/s of using mobile phones in terms of communication?
3. What do you think is/are the effect/s of mobile phones on people’s social life?
4.2. If your answer is ‘NO’, what do you do to keep it from becoming a distraction?
5. What if mobile phones disappeared, how will it affect your social life?

As student 1 said that it'll be harder to communicate with other people, same as student 5
said. For students 3 and 4 if mobile phones disappeared they can still communicate with
other people outside the screen. For student 2 if mobile phones disappeared it will affect
people’s social life drastically, for her/him the mobile phones are tools to communicate

Conclusion
The following conclusions are drawn based on the results of the study:
According to the researchers’ gathered data about the impact of mobile phones in the
social life of the students, mobile phones are fast, essential and useful in their lives
especially when it comes to communicating with other people. It’s helpful for them to
communicate with other cause of fast access of connection with other people, their only
benefit in mobile phones is no matter how far the person was, unless there were mobile
phones to use for communication. On the other hand, life would be a little bit hard for
them without a mobile phone cause of no contact with far away people, but as the other
student said that people can communicate and survive without a mobile phone. Moreover,
as the students said there are good and bad effects of mobile phones which can show their
awareness and concern of the mobile phone users especially false information and also
cause a distraction to them as students but on the bright side, some people can limit and

manage their selves to avoid distraction and people have social media to spend time with
it when they have free time. According to the results, mobile phone has a great influence
