Dear Venkataramana,

We are happy to accept your application for Dhamma Service at the Two-Day
Course to be held from 11/3/2023 to 11/5/2023 at New Ulm, TX. The final
acceptance is contingent upon the Covid-19 safety requirements determined by

Please know that, although we are tentatively planning to hold this course, we may
have to cancel as circumstances unfold. If so, we will notify you immediately.

All students and servers will have private accommodations and bathrooms. For the
protection of all course participants, the Center’s policy requires everyone to
maintain a reasonable social distancing. Masks are optional (If you wish to use
them, please bring sufficient face masks and other personal protective equipment
for your own usage throughout the course).

Anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 during the course will be asked to


return home. Please have travel plans in place for this eventuality.

Please make your plans to arrive at the center between 3pm and 5pm for the
registration period and a light meal at 5pm, followed by orientation.

Arrivals at the center after 5pm on the day of the course are not recommended.

The course ends at approximately 3pm on 11/5/2023.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES


It is very helpful if the servers arrive early to the course. Early arrival allows time for
proper orientation and helps the course begin smoothly. Many servers find that
arriving a day or two early makes it easier to settle in to the rhythm of the center.

If you are able, we encourage you to arrive a day or two early. If you are unable to
arrive early, then please arrive by 12:00 noon on November 3, 2023.

Please reply and let us know your planned arrival date and time, so that center
management can prepare.

Everyone coming will need to fulfill the following requirements:

1) Testing Protocols:

COVID-19 Rapid Antigen / Rapid self-test taken the day before of arrival at
the Center / course site.
Acceptable to self-test anytime in the 24-hour window before arrival at the
Center. But strong recommendation is to do it on the same day of arrival.
Please upload a picture of this test to your enrollment confirmation link found
in your acceptance email. Students may bring the electronic copy of the
results with them and show at the registration desk.
Negative test results are required before entering center facilities / Course
Site. Avoid coming to the center if your results do not come in time or if the
results are positive. Instead, contact registration@sukha.dhamma.org for
assistance.

2) Mask Protocols:

Masks are optional. Students are required to bring sufficient masks, if they
want to use them during the course.

3) Travel to the Center:


Travel into New Ulm/Austin/Houston using public transportation modes is
allowed (air, bus, train etc) without any restrictions.
Rideshare with another participant or using Uber/Lyft is acceptable.
Follow all CDC guidelines while travelling.
We recommend to take necessary COVID safety precautions while using
public transportation and rideshare with others.

contains important information about the content, structure, and rules of the
course. By submitting your application, you have agreed to follow the Code of
Discipline during this course.

COURSE FINANCES
According to the tradition of pure Vipassana, courses are run solely on a donation
basis. Donations are accepted only from those who have completed at least one
ten-day course with S.N. Goenka or one of his assistant teachers. Having
experienced the benefits of Vipassana, students taking the course for the first time
may give a donation on the last day of the course.

3. HEALTH AND MEDICATIONS


If you are taking any prescribed medication, please make sure you bring enough
for the entire course and continue to take it as prescribed by your healthcare
provider. This includes prescriptions for 'as needed' medications. If there is any
significant change in your physical or mental health, or medications, please let us
know immediately.
Your confirmation to the course indicates your agreement to the above
points.

ITEMS TO BRING WITH YOU:


Bring enough comfortable, loose-fitting and modest clothing for the length of your
stay.

In addition, for personal hygiene during Covid-19 pandemic, please bring the
following items (enough for the length of your stay):

- Face masks
- Hand sanitizers
- Face tissues
- Reusable water bottle
- Umbrella
- Torch Light
- Personal meditation cushions and shawls
- Personal bed sheets, pillow case, and towels

PLEASE NOTE: Students are asked not to bring any personal food, reading or
writing materials, cell phones, or other electronic devices for use during the
course.

At this time, all participants will need to make their own arrangements for travel to
the center by private car, shuttle, bus, air, train etc.

this course. If you mentioned needing or offering a ride on your application, you

Please offer rides if you will have extra space in your vehicle. Sometimes
people can't attend simply because they lack transportation.

COMMUNICABLE ILLNESS PROTOCOLS:


Please take note of this important information about communicable illnesses,
including influenza and viruses. These protocols are in place to protect students
and volunteers on this course.

While at the course, you may be sharing toilet / washroom facilities, and will be in
close proximity to others in a large group meditation hall and in the dining halls.

If you feel ill before the course, please stay home and rest. Anyone who arrives
with obvious symptoms of flu, virus, or other serious communicable illnesses will
not be accepted and will be asked to return home

Face masks help prevent further spread of infection from those who are sick to
others around them. Everyone is required to wear a properly fitting masks while at
the center, except in your own room.
If you are unable or unwilling to follow the mask wearing policy, please cancel your
enrollment at this course and apply again in the future when masks are no longer
required.

We regret that we do not have the facilities or resources to take care of those who
fall ill during the course. Therefore, please understand and agree that if you fall ill
with flu, a virus, or similar symptoms, you will be quarantined and will be asked to
leave the course as soon as possible.

Students are asked to provide emergency contact information on all courses. If


you fall ill and are unable to independently return home, you will need to contact
your emergency contact for assistance in arranging your return home. Please
advise them of this possibility prior to the course.

7. IMMIGRATION INFORMATION
If you are coming from outside the U.S., we will send you as a separate email an
official letter for use at the U.S. border which explains why you are coming into the
U.S. and for how long.
