Modernism and post modernism

Modernism
The municipality of last semesters design can be an example of modernist
architecture characterized by its clean lines geometric shapes and minimalistic
aesthetics. I tried to emphasize functionality and simplicity over ornate decoration s
.the use of matters such as galss and concrete gives it a contemporary look .

1. Clean lines: the formal developments features straight lines that compose two
rectangular figures which through manipulation get in to the final form .
2. Geometric shapes: the shapes I used when coming up with my form were two
rectangular shapes wanting to represent power of the municipality and the
community.
3. Functionality: the building is designed with strong emphasis on functionality ensuring
the layout and features serve practical purposes efficiently.
4. Material I used: the main material used is glass which creates a contemporary look.
5. Open spaces and natural light: the design as much as possible strives to create open
spaces that serve as good lighting opportunities.
1. Entrance and Lobby: The entrance area is spacious and welcoming, with a large lobby
that provides a clear path for visitors to navigate the building. The lobby may feature a
reception desk, seating areas, and information kiosks.

2. Public Spaces: The floor plan includes public spaces such as meeting rooms, council
chambers, and community areas that are easily accessible from the main entrance. These
areas are designed to accommodate a variety of activities and events.

3. Administrative Offices: The layout includes well-organized administrative offices for

municipal staff, with designated workstations, meeting rooms, and support spaces. The
offices are typically located in a central area for easy communication and collaboration.

4. Service Areas: Service areas such as utility rooms, storage spaces, and maintenance
facilities are strategically placed for efficient operations and maintenance of the building.

5. Accessibility: The floor plan incorporates features to ensure accessibility for individuals
with disabilities, such as ramps, elevators, and designated parking spaces.

6. Natural Light: The design maximizes natural light throughout the building by
strategically placing windows and skylights to create a bright and inviting interior
environment.

7. Flexible Spaces: The floor plan includes flexible spaces that can be easily adapted for
different uses or reconfigured as needed. This allows the building to accommodate
changing requirements over time.
