The social media used by the younger generation reflects the
changing landscape of communication and social interaction
in the digital era. As technology advances, the younger
generation has become the main user of social media
platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and
others. This phenomenon was triggered by the increase in
easier and more affordable internet access, as well as the
popularity of smartphone-based applications

The increasing penetration of the internet and the popularity

of social media platforms have changed the way young
people interact, communicate and access information.
However, even though social media offers various benefits,
there are also negative impacts provided by social media.
THE GOVERNMENT BELIEVES THAT THE USE OF SOCIAL
MEDIA HAS A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE YOUNGER
GENERATION IN INDONESIA
