BUILD A BRIDGE WRITE UP

My partner is Mathew

The reason why we chose the Leonardo Da Vinci bridge is because we knew how to make it
and we knew that it can support a good amount of weight when it is made correctly. Also, it is
very strong because the different popsicle sticks can support each other in different ways and
what we did to add the length is we kind of copied it onto itself and got the required length. It
also uses no glue or tape at all if you know how to build it very well, but we used glue and clay.
So, the things that we used were liquid glue, clay, and popsicle sticks. This bridge was a good
idea for us to choose so we chose it but before we were going to do a completely different
design for a completely different bridge. I think it is going to support quite a bit of weight on it
because when we were testing it we would push down on it and in the middle it was very
strong. I personally think that this is a bridge of strength but not so much of a bridge of length.
Also, the supports at the ends do a ton of work on this bridge because the weight is also
distributed through all the supports.
AFTER THE CHALLENGE:
The bridge actually worked very well! I am very surprised that it holds so much weight. So,
the first time we did the challenge it held 6 clay blocks that are the long thin ones. But after we
did it again and put weights on the 4 ends for the first part and it worked way better. But after
the bridge bent so much that it got flat we completely took the weights off of the bridge IKA our
hands. So, for next time something to remember is it is a good bridge and it also requires
weight on the 4 corners. The reason why it needs something to hold the ends in place is
because it slides a bit and it is very un-sturdy, but after the bridge is pressed down flat it stays
really sturdy and you do not need to hold the bridge down. So, the takeaway is if you make that
bridge it needs something to keep the ends from not sliding. Also, the safety features of this
bridge are: One it is very strong because it supports itself, there is a railing to hold on to, and
finally the bridge is also tested many times so it is definitely safe.
