1. Which human right will you be speaking about? Find the right listed in the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and describe what it means and why it is important (at least
three dot points)

1 human right I will choose and speak about is the right of everyone to have the freedom to have
education. Why is it important to have the freedom to have education?
- So you can promote your understanding to subjects or the world
- Education can gives us good thoughts in a human being
- Education develops a meaningful outlook on life
- Education contributes to innovations and discoveries
- To grow confidence and freedom around people

2. Choose one example from around the world of people being denied this right. Explain how
they are being denied the right, and what they would like to change so they receive the
right. Include evidence (3-5 dot points)
An admirer of girls' education, Malala Yousafzai, who has been denied the right to education, is:

- When Malala was 15 years old, her country (Pakistan) only accepted boys for education.
- Malala got shot in the head right after she spoke about the equality of boys and girls having
the same education to the Taliban officer.
- She travelled around the world to ensure equality for girls' education after she graduated
from Oxford University at the age of 22.

3. Write an introduction that includes a ‘hook’ to grab the audience’s attention. It should
introduce you, greet your audience and introduce the topic (About 100 words)
Do you ever have any experience of being a part of a situation where children are suffering
without the right to educational opportunities that they deserve? There is no doubt that this
is going to mentally ruin the lives of our children, as they will not receive any education
and will not know anything about the community, the environment, or even the world
works at all. The urgent need is to act now and support the children who need an education,
and to bring equality to the education system. We must act now as there are countries in the
world that accepts only boys education, or they only support the girls education.
4. What are three persuasive devices that you will use? Write below the devices that you will
use and three ideas of how to apply them to your topic. (at least one sentence per example –
you may only use each persuasive device once)

As a part of my speech, I will use an anecdote as part of my call to action. In addition, the
anecdote will add a dramatic impact to my speech since it will be introduced first.
