A: Section shows polypoidal fragments composed of irregular glands of variable sizes and surface

villiform structures lined by foveolar epithelium. Focally, the epithelial cells show reactive cellular
changes. The stroma is expanded by moderate to dense infiltrations of lymphocytes and plasma cells,
with presence of a lymphoid follicle with germinal centre. No Brunner gland, oxyntic gland, dysplasia or
malignancy.

B: Section shows a fragment composed of oesophageal and gastric mucosa. The oesophageal mucosa is
composed of mildly acanthotic, stratified squamous epithelium showing normal cell polarity. The gastric
mucosa is composed of irregular, antral-type glands lined by foveolar epithelium. The lamina propria is
mildly infiltrated by lymphocytes and plasma cells. There are no neutrophils, H. pylori, ulcer, intestinal
metaplasia, dysplasia or malignancy seen.

A: Duodenal polyp: Features are consistent with gastric metaplasia

B: Oesophageal biopsy: 1) No evidence of Barrett’s oesophagitis

2) Mild chronic gastritis.
