EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise is a partnership that produces a product

called Banana Blossom Atchara. Hazel Annie Rose V. Laurel and Irish B. Maala

have proposed the business in the food industry.

To determine the demand and supply conditions on the market in Talisay,

the proponents perform an actual survey and give a survey questionnaire to the

population in Talisay, Batangas. Slovin's formula was used to determine the total

number of respondents, which resulted in 397 respondents.

The business makes Banana Blossom Atchara, a new variation of the

atchara, and is in the food industry. This will be located in Talisay, Batangas, at

the Talisay Public Market. The store will be on the first floor, near the entrance

area, with Baywalk Talisay in the background. This commercial food store serves

consumers of all ages who want to purchase easy-to-consume foods.

The proponents ensure that all of the business's equipment, personnel,

and overall costs are taken into consideration. Conversely, if a product is well

publicized through flyers, tarpaulins, word of mouth, and social media, especially

Facebook, which might fascinate potential customers and grab their attention,

promotional strategies will be more successful.

The analysis covers financial forecasts and ratios to show the business's

solvency, profitability, and liquidity from 2024 to 2028. As more requests are met
xii

starting in 2024, the Banana Blossom Atchara firm is anticipated to consistently

increase its profit.

This will help the government and society by contributing taxes to the

national fund and lowering the unemployment rate in the municipality because

the company needs two workers to make the product.

CHAPTER 1

Background of the Study

Food is a very important part of a Filipino's life. Foods provide nutritional

support for the body. It has different kinds and forms with the aspect of

uniqueness to hook the satisfaction of the customers. There are a lot of types of

foods that the Philippines makes, and some are adopted from other countries.

Filipino food is making waves across the globe due to its delicious blend of rich

flavors and unique textures that create a special dining experience for any

individual. With such a diverse range of meat, seafood, vegetables, and rice,

along with delectable desserts, a Filipino menu offers a little bit of everything for

everyone. One of the reasons why Filipino cuisine is known as the original fusion

cuisine across the globe is bacause it continues to surprise people due to its

distinct taste, creativity, and diversity. There are many different inspirations that

go into making Pinoy food unique; there are influences of Spanish, Chinese,

Indian, and Western cuisine in every dish. Filipino cuisine is popular for its

delicious taste and appetizing aroma. You can easily tell apart Filipino food from

other cuisines due to its color and the manner in which it is served. Its distinctive

colors, aromas, and flavors result in a full sensory experience with each bite.

Each ingredient is carefully prepared and added to create each Pinoy dish,

offering a balance of flavors that will surely satisfy your palate preferences.

(Savoie, 2022).
2

According to Snooky (2022), during seasons when fresh produce was in

short supply, people used the technique of fermentation to preserve their food. It

has a sweet and tangy flavor that compliments a wide range of dishes, including

grilled pork and fried fish. The subtle balance of sweetness and vinegar makes it

a great side dish for meat and vegetables.

Atchara was influenced by the Indian food Achaar, which is a dish made

up of several fruits and vegetables and means "pickle." Pickling was a method

used to save extra food for seasons when there was a shortage of food

production (TastePhilippines.com, 2022). Here in the Philippines, atchara is a

Filipino pickled green papaya fermented recipe that is well-known as a side dish

for every Filipino. It is made of unripe papaya, garlic, onion, ginger, carrots, bell

peppers, whole peppercorns, white sugar, and vinegar, and fermented quickly for

at least 24 to 48 hours. These quick pickles are also similar to Korean pickled

daikon radishes that take overnight to brine. It is commonly served alongside rice

and fatty meats, such as pork, fish, and chicken. Atchara can be made in various

ways. Some people need to sundry the papaya before fermenting it or cooking,

while others only need to extract the juice.

A. Name of the Firm/ Business Description

The proposed business will be known as "R&R Manufacturing

Enterprise," a firm that manufactures "banana blossom atchara". R&R stands for

Rose and Rish, the initials of the owner's nickname. The location of the business

3

The purpose of the business was to give satisfaction to the customers with

high-quality food that has a distinct taste and efficient distribution of our products.

It was a good-quality product at prices that were affordable for the customers

who wanted to avail themselves of it.

The form of business is a partnership because it is formed with two

partners who are known to be agents of the partnership. It is easier and less

expensive to organize and compare to other type of business organization. The

name will be properly registered to different agencies for the legality of business

operations.

Business Logo

Figure 1.1 Business Logo

5

The business logo of R&R Manufacturing Enterprise has a circular

arrangement of the business name "R&R Manufacturing Enterprise" and the

product offering "Banana Blossom Atchara." The circular arrangement of the text

creates a sense of unity and balance. A jar was placed in the middle with banana

blossoms, the jar imagery highlights the product itself. The color palette of the

logo is a combination of red, green, and blue, or RGB with the hex code #933E49,

resembling the color of banana blossoms, which is the main ingredient of the

product.

Product / Service Description

The proponents decided to produce or offer banana blossom atchara in

the market. There are many banana farms in Talisay. That's why the proponents

thought of turning banana blossom into a side dish like atchara and proposing it

as a business venture. Banana blossom atchara is a pickled side dish that is

made out of banana blossoms as the main ingredient, plus garlic, onion, ginger,

bell pepper, carrots, salt, pepper, sugar, oil, vinegar, and fish sauce. It would be

known to the public because of its affordable and innovative nature.

Atchara is a pickling process for preserving food. Atchara can add a

special flavor to food by itself or when mixed with other foods. Banana blossom is

rich in nutrients, including fiber, antioxidants, and numerous minerals. It may aid

digestive health, prevent prostate enlargement, support bone health, and help

lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. (Richter, 2022)

6

The shelf life of the product lasts for a month because it has vinegar to

preserve it. According to Holban (2017), picking is the process of soaking food in

a solution containing salt, acid, or alcohol. It can be used with most foods,

including fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, and eggs. Most methods do not

require any special equipment. Pickling is often combined with another method,

such as fermenting, canning, or just refrigerating. The pickling procedure

includes chemical pickling and fermentation pickling. In chemical pickling, the

food is placed in an edible liquid that inhibits or kills bacteria and other

microorganisms. Typical pickling agents include brine (high in salt), vinegar,

alcohol, and vegetable oil, especially olive oil, but many other oils can also be

used. In fermentation pickling, the food itself produces the preservation agent,

typically through a process that produces lactic acid.

The jar was sterilized before putting the atchara in it, and then they waited

until it cooled down before sealing it to prevent food contamination. Then, when

the banana blossom atchara was opened, they needed to be put in the

refrigerator or at room temperature to be stored.

B. Location

The location of the business is in the public market at Zone 6, Talisay,

Batangas. It is easy to find and is located on the first floor of the public market

near the entrance in front of the baywalk. The proponents chose this location

because they believe that customers can easily access the store because it is

located in a public market where people are going to buy something they need.
7

C. Brief Description of the Project

The purpose of this feasibility study is to assess the viability of the

"Banana Blossom Atchara," an atchara made of banana blossoms. The study

covered the market, management, technical, financial, and socio-economic

studies of the proposed product. The feasibility study is used to determine the

potential for the success of a proposed business venture. The project was

proposed by Hazel Annie Rose V. Laurel and Irish B. Maala.

1. History of the Business

Atchara was influenced by the Indian cuisine Achaar, which consists of a

variety of fruits and vegetables and is known as "pickle." Pickling was a method

used to save extra food for seasons when there was a shortage of food

production (TastePhilippines.com, 2022).

Here in the Philippines, when we say atchara, we are referring to food

made from unripe papaya, carrots, bell pepper, garlic, onion, and ginger. It is a

pickled side dish that enhances your taste buds. It is usually served at dining

tables, especially during fiestas or on any other occasion.

Calaca, one of the cities here in Batangas, is best identified with the

pickled dish. Yearly, during the month of October, small entrepreneurs are

engaged in the manufacture of the atchara, which is celebrated as the

Calacatchara Festival. It is a thanksgiving celebration, which made the atchara of

8

Calaca and the town popular. During the weeklong festival, a cooking festival is

held, showcasing the atchara. Competitors show their ingenuity by using atchara

in their recipes. And it is also a place where you can check and taste which

manufacturer has the best-tasting atchara. (Palomar, 2021)

target market. This study evaluated the viability of the proposed product within

the area. The proponents gathered information by administering questionnaires.

Furthermore, the research study focused on the market, management, technical,

financial and socio- economic aspects of business.

Residents of Talisay, Batangas, will be covered as respondents; the

product will be disseminated through direct selling, and orders will also be

accepted from our Facebook page for those who are willing to purchase our

product.

MARKET ASPECT

In the market study, the researchers individually handed out

questionnaires to 397 respondents in the Talisay, Batangas in order to collect

12

information through an actual survey. Using Slovin’s formula, the proponents

calculated the sample size. The printed survey questionnaire was the main tool

for information collection in this era of face-to-face communication. The

respondents are people who are interested in the concept of food service.

MANAGEMENT ASPECT

The management aspect of the feasibility study concentrated on choosing

the appropriate management techniques and deciding what type of business

ownership will be used in the proposed business. In order for management to

effectively and efficiently administer the business, the proponents decided and

specified the pay scales for the employees as well as the laws, regulations, and

policies that must be followed. The suggested company will form a general

partnership and recruit three people. Due to constraints imposed by

organizational and policy structures.

the capital needed to operate the firm in the financial parts of this study. The

financial study, according to the supporters, also includes the presentation of the

company's anticipated financial statements. The researcher created financial

predictions that serve as the basis for financial analysis, the creation of financial

statements, and the assessment of the company's financial performance.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECT

The socio-economic study in which the business firm is founded both to

enhance the local and national economies of the country and to make a profit for

the business owners. Through the timely payment of taxes, licenses, permits,

and other government-mandated payments, the proposed business may achieve

successful socio economic responsibility.

G. DEFINITION OF TERMS

The proponents created a list of words, assigning each one a correct

definition in accordance with the study's relevance. In order for readers to fully

comprehend the study, the proponents stripped out all the unusual words that

were utilized. There is an alphabetical list of the words.

Atchara. Was influenced by India, with the dish achaar, iwhich is a dish made up

of several fruits and vegetables and means "pickle” (tastephilippines.com,2022).

In this study, atchara is the most important in making our product.

14

Banana Blossom. Is the flower that grows at the end of banana bunches. It is

purple, fleshy and can be eaten cooked or raw (Olukiran, 2022). In this study,

banana blossom is the main ingredient.

Capital. It is a broad term for anything that gives its owner value or advantage,

like a factory and its equipment, intellectual property like patents, or a company's

or person's financial assets (Hargrave, 2022). In this study, capital is the money

used to build, run, or grow a business.

Compensations. It is the financial value that a team member receives in

exchange for their services. This monetary value can include wages, salaries,

commissions, and bonuses (Bester, 2023). In this study compensation is the

most important while operating their business.

Establishment. It is generally a single physical location where business is

conducted or where services or industrial operations are performed (Murray,

2019). In this study establishment is the most important while doing a business.

Expenditures. It is the amount of money that a person spends (Girardin, 2023).

In this study, it is important to know the amount of money that will be spent on

business.

Forecasted. An estimate or prediction of a future happening or condition (Tuovila,

2023). In this study, forecasted is one of need in doing a business.

Manufacturing. It refers to the processing of raw materials or parts into finished

goods through the use of tools, human labor, machinery, and chemical
15

processing (Kenton, 2022). In this study, manufacturing is the most important

because, without it, they can't produce in business.

H. METHODS AND PROCEDURE

The research methodology is the process of gathering, analyzing, and

interpreting data from a large number of people. It seeks to ascertain the

perspectives of a group of people. The proponent used the quantitative research

approach to gather and analyze data. The systmetic conclusion of number of

data is from a large sample size of potential customers.

Slovin's Formula

The formula used by the proponents in this study is Slovin's formula to

determine the number of respondents needed. The size of populations in the

location of the business is needed in this formula.

Formula: n = N / (1 + Ne2)

Where:

N = total population

n = number of needed respondents

e = error / margin error

Solution:

N = 46, 238

e = 5% or 0.05

n = 46, 238 /1 + (46, 238) (.052)

16

n = 46, 238 / 116.595

n = 397 Respondents

SAMPLING METHOD

The sampling method utilized in the study is the stratified sampling

because this type of sampling is used over all proportions of the population. It

can determine the appropriate sample size for each barangay in Talisay,

Batangas.

I. RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers employed a descriptive research design as well as

a survey questionnaire form to collect data for the study. The research design

specifies the technique for gathering the necessary data, the methods to be used

to collect and evaluate the data, and how all of this will be used to answer the

survey questionnaires. According to McCombes (2022), Descriptive research

aims to accurately and methodically describe a population, circumstance, or

phenomena. It can answer what, where, when, and how queries. A descriptive

research design can employ a wide range of research methods to study one or

more variables.

J. RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

Individuals living in Talisay, Batangas were chosen as the respondents of

the study. The researchers survey questionnaires to collect data. The

17

respondents of this study will be the local residents of Talisay, Batangas, with a

total population of 6,703 in the urban area and 39,535 in the rural area, for a total

of 46,238 in the year 2020.The proponents utilized Slovin's formula to calculate

the number of respondents in Talisay, Batangas, where the computed sample

size is 397.

TOTAL 46,238 100% 397

The total number of people who participated in the study is shown in the

table above. The Municipality of Talisay in the province of Batangas has a total

population of 46,238 residents as of 2020. Slovin’s formula is used to calculate

the sample size of 397 respondents with a margin error of 5%, or 0.05. To

ascertain the distribution of respondents in each barangay, the proportional

sampling method was used.

K. RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

In order to get reliable results from a study, it is essential to use some sort

of tool to assemble data from many sources. The proponents of this study used

self-made questionnaires to get the desired data from the respondents.

The first part of the questionnaire deals with the demographic profile of the

respondents. The proponents sought to gather data related to their gender, age,

occupational status, and monthly income or allowances. The second part of the

questionnaire is the product profile. The third is the marketing mix, which aims to

gather the preferences of the respondents in terms of the product, its pricing, the
19

promotional efforts that could persuade them to buy, and the place. Lastly, there

is market acceptability.

L. Validity of Questionnaire

The product title that was required for the feasibility study was initially

submitted by the proponents. After the product was accepted, those behind it

began creating the background product research, which contains the

questionnaire. The proponents produced nine (9) questions and a likert scale

survey. The proponents sought the expertise of the feasibility study adviser, Mrs.

Ginica A. Tud, MBA, to verify and validate the survey questionnaires. In addition,

the proponent also asked for the help of three experts in the field, namely,

Mr.Mark Andrew Rimas, MBA, Atty. Alexis D. Dela Vega, and r. Isidro D.

Enriquez, to check and finalize the completed survey questionnaire. In order to

gather the most accurate data, the questions were carefully thought out and

constructed.

The proponents conducted a pretest questionnaire among the 15

individuals in Laurel, Batangas. After respondents answered the survey

questionnaire, proponents utilized Cronbach's alpha to determine the survey's

reliability or internal consistency of a set of scales or test items. Cronbach's alpha

is the most common measure of internal consistency or reliability. Cronbach's

20

alpha tests are used to determine the dependability of multiple-question Likert

scale surveys.

The formula for Cronbach’s alpha is:

Where:

 K = is the number of test items.

 ∑s²y = is sum of the item variance

 s²x= is the variance of total score

The result showed in the table below.

Table 1.2 Cronbach Alpha

INTERNAL
VARIABLES DESCRIPTION VALUES
CONSISTENCY

 # of items 16

2 Sum of the items variance 5.29

2 Variance of total score 20.25

 Cronbach's alpha 0.79 Acceptable

21

The table shows that the initial consistency of the consumer survey is

0.79, showing that the survey was acceptable.

M. Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers began gathering relevant information after the title was

approved to develop and build ideas essential to the study. The proponents

created survey questionnaires, which were evaluated by the adviser and three (3)

validators. After the questionnaires were checked by the three (3) validators and

revised by the researchers, the proponents conducted a pretest with 15

respondents from Laurel, Batangas, and used Cronbach's alpha as a reliability

test. The result is 0.79, which means acceptable. The proponents give a letter to

the Municipality of Talisay for its population. After the approval of the letter and

giving the total number of the population, the proponents used Slovin's formula to

determine the sample size. The proponents started to distribute the questionnaire

to 397 respondents in Talisay, Batangas. The information gathered will be

analyzed and interpreted by the proponents.

CHAPTER 2

MARKET STUDY

Marketing is a collection of business activities aimed at designing, pricing,

advancing, and disseminating need-satisfying labor and products to current and

prospective customers. It is considered the backbone of each and every

business because it is the most efficient way to adapt to the requirements and

needs of the customers, find opportunities related to them, present and market

the item, and achieve client trust and support.

This study focused on demand and supply, which are probably the most

basic elements, and determine factors in the business that will make or break it.

It will tackle how the supply of the product will meet the demand of consumers.

The proponents will be considering the marketing strategies that will be used to

attract and keep consumers.

A. Market Description

The market is both the place and the means of product sales. A market is

composed of people who are intrigued and able to purchase a specific item to get

a benefit that will fulfill a particular need or need and individuals who have the

assets of time and cash. Every industry is unique, and there are various business

sectors within each industry. It is essential to distinguish the market appropriately.

A business ought to adopt procedures to foster productivity. Hence, to foster

23

such methodologies, a cautious report from the market viewpoint should be

directed.

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise is targeting the citizens of Talisay,

Batangas. The store will be located at Talisay Public Market. The chosen store is

accessible because it is well-known place and will be visited by many individuals.

1. Areas Geographical Coverage

The main business area is primarily the municipality of Talisay. The

business will cover the area of Talisay in Batangas Province. There are twenty-

one (21) barangays in total, namely Aya, Balas, Banga, Buco, Caloocan, Leynes,

Miranda, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Poblacion 5,

Poblacion 6, Poblacion 7, Poblacion 8, Quilling, Sampaloc, San Guillermo,

Sta.Maria, Tranca, and Tumaway. The barangays mentioned will be the

respondents to our survey, and this could be our primary market. Based on the

Municipality of Talisay census as of 2020, this market is composed of 46,238

total residents.

Figure 2.1 Vicinity of Talisay

24

2. Methods of Transportation and Existing Rate of Transportation

The method of transportation to be used by the customers to reach the

store is by land transportation; they can walk or ride in a jeepney or tricycle. The

cost of transportation depends on how far they are from the store and from what

barangay they are from, but the minimum rate of transportation ranges from 20 to

60 pesos.

3. Channels of Distribution and General Trade Practices

R&R Banana Blossom Atchara would only use direct channel distribution.

In line with using direct channel distribution, the proponents would establish their

own physical store and online platform to sell Banana Blossom Atchara directly

to customers. The physical store is located on the first floor of the public market,

near the entrance in front of the baywalk, making it convenient for customers to

purchase the product. Meanwhile, the online platform that the proponents use,

which is Facebook, would cater to customers who prefer the convenience of

ordering from home.

Figure 2.2 Channel Distribution

B. Demand

This refers to economic principle pertaining to a consumer’s desire to

purchase goods and services and willingness to pay a price for a specific good or

service. Demand also depends on the price, an increase.

25

1. Past Consumption

The proponents used survey questionnaire and was distributed to a total

of 397 samples from different barangays in Talisay, Batangas. Past consumption

data was analyzed and projected for the future based on experience and future

needs. The population indicated in previous consumption is based on data

obtained from Municipality of Talisay by the researchers.

Table 2.1 shows the results that 286 respondents with a percentage of

79% would buy atchara monthly; hence, 12 would be the proponents' frequency

of agreement (FOA). The total number of respondents is 362 because those

were the only respondents who answered yes to the question "Do you buy

Atchara?" in the product profile.

years 2019–2023. The percentage of market acceptability which is 82%

represents that most of the respondents are willing to try and buy the banana

blossom atchara. The frequency of agreement, or F.O.A., refers to how often the
28

respondents would buy the product. Past annual demand was computed by

multiplying the market acceptability by the population and the frequency of

agreement.

2. Major Consumers of the Products

The major consumers of the product are those households of every

barangay in Talisay Batangas.

According to survey data, the majority of respondents are female, with a

total of 281 respondents and a percentage of 70.8%, while the total of male
29

respondents is 116 and a percentage of 29.2%. So it means that women buy

more atchara than men. According to Maitreyi (2021), gender distinctions are

also seen in family purchasing decisions. When it comes to non-gender-specific

products, men and women typically have different preferences. It's due to their

disparities in socialization and upbringing, as well as the distinctions between

being feminine and masculine. Therefore, the marketing decisions taken are

based on certain assumptions and knowledge of consumer behavior, which may

include the influence of advertisements, the economic situation, factors of time,

and many more. Two different genders in a family have different approaches or

views of how to look at something or buy a product. Since women’s character is

shown with more sensitivity, warmth, and apprehension, men are usually

characterized with emotional stability, dominance, and rule consciousness. Both

have different opinions about a particular thing. Almost all buyers in the public

Market are women, so the majority of consumers of banana blossom atchara are

women.

According to the survey, in terms of age, 25–34 years old have the highest

number of respondents who mostly consume atchara, which is 135 people, or

34%. Followed by 15–24 years old, which has 118 respondents, or 29.7%. Then

35–44 years old, that has 87 respondents, or 21.9%. Then 55 and above, with 32

respondents, or 8.1%. And lastly, 45–54 years old, which has 25 respondents, or

6.3%.

The data collected in the survey in terms of occupational status shows that

63.1% of 251 respondents are employed, 13.9% of 55 respondents are self-

30

employed, 12.6% of 50 respondents are students, and 10.4% of 41 respondents

are unemployed. Additionally, consumers of atchara, who are employed or self-

employed, have a monthly income of P10,001–P15,000, which is 25.8%.

3. Projected Consumption

The number of products that consumers are willing to purchase in the

future is represented by the projected demand. The business needs to determine

whether demand would continue to increase. It would serve as a forecast of

potential demand and sales. A historical analysis of the product's availability on

the market would be taken into consideration when calculating demand.

Table 2.6 represents the projected annual demand of the year 2024 –

2028. Projected annual demand is the forecasted consumption that assumes the

actual sales order consumes the forecasted quantities.

31

C. Supply

The total quantity of a certain product that was made available to

consumers was referred to as the supply. The proponent used the information

gathered from the survey questionnaire to determine the historical data for supply.

Table 2.7 shows the historical supply of banana blossom atchara for the

years 2019–2023. The percentage of purchases represents that most of the

respondents are willing to buy the banana blossom atchara.

Projected Supply

The projected supply is the quantity of a certain product that is anticipated

to be delivered to consumers in the future. The survey questionnaire was used

by the proponents to estimate the supply of banana blossom atchara for the

years 2024–2028.

The table 2.8 represents the projected annual supply for the years 2024–

2028. The table above shows a decreasing supply from 2024. The projected

annual supply is calculated by multiplying the population by the percentage of

purchases and the frequency of agreements.

Demand and Supply Analysis

It is necessary to analyze the supply and demand for the product to

determine whether it still has a place in the market to satisfy the demand. This

section focused on determining whether the proposed business would be

profitable and viable. It presented the "market gap", which describes the

possibility that the products might be available on the market.

The huge market gap shows an opportunity for the proposed business to

penetrate the market.

The table above shows the gap between the projected annual demand

and the projected annual supply for the years 2024–2028. The gap was

calculated by subtracting the projected annual demand to the projected annual

supply. In addition, analysis of demand and supply was a tool in determining the

quality of the product that the proponents will produce.

Market Share

Market share was considered to be an important indicator of a business'

ability to compete in the market and manage its competitors. It was the portion

that the proponents can get into the market if they ever launch their product.

Table 2.10

Market share = market gap/current demand * 100

The table shows the market share from 2024-2028 which is 3.66%.

2. Factors affecting trends in past and future supply

There are various factors that can impact the past and future supply of

R&R Manufacturing Enterprises in the market. These factors include:

 Availability of Raw Materials- the availability and accessibility of raw

materials, such as banana blossoms, can significantly affect the supply of

banana blossom atchara. Factors like weather conditions and agricultural

practices can impact the availability and cost of these raw materials.

 Competitors- Competitors have an impact on the market because they pose

a threat to businesses in the same field. Given the number of atchara makers

and manufacturers on the market, the market acceptance of banana blossom

should have a lot of potentials.

 Changes in income- As changes in income have an effect on consumers'

purchasing power, the market is also impacted. Naturally, a person must

prioritize their wants if their income is not very high.

E. Project’s Marketing Program

A project marketing program is a well-planned, coordinated series of

actions that will help people achieve their marketing objectives and goals. The

marketing program or promotional strategy can be viewed as strategic sales

goals that are tailored to the company's strengths and adaptability in the current
36

environment. It is also an effective method for establishing and maintaining

strong consumer relationships in order to achieve success.

Proposed marketing program of the project describing the following:

Product
R&R Manufacturing Enterprise offers a product called banana blossom

atchara at Talisay, Batangas. It has a sweet and tangy flavor that complements a

wide range of dishes, including fried and grilled pork and fish. The banana

blossom atchara was available in a 220-ml jar. The product has a lot of benefits

because banana blossom is rich in nutrients, including fiber, antioxidants, and

numerous minerals. The shelf life of the atchara is a month; just store it in the

fridge or a cool, dry place once it is open.

Figure 2.4 Nutrition facts of Banana Blossom Atchara

Pricing

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise manufacturer of Banana Blossom Atchara

will have a good at a reasonable price, which is one of the reasons why

consumers would undoubtedly patronize it. The product's price must cover the

costs to generate a higher profit, but the business must also consider the

customer's willingness to pay for the product. Hence, the proponent uses Cost

plus pricing in computing the price. Under of cost plus pricing, direct material cost,

direct labor cost, factory overhead costs, and mark-up, it is added together to

arrive at a selling price. The selling price of the banana blossom atchara per jar

(220 ml) is PHP 112.00.

shows the total sales opportunity of the business, the gap was used as the basis

for computing the number of units to be produced in a year. The proponent

assumes a certain percentage, which is 100%. Therefore, units produced are

computed by multiplying the gap by 100%.

Promotion Strategy

Customer retention will be a major goal of the proposed business as it

establishes itself in the market through the development of strategies and

programs that build a sustainable, loyal, and regular customer base. Sales

promotion plays an important role for businesses since it increases revenue, and
42

attracts potential customers while keeping current customers satisfied. According

to the proponents, the firm will allocate enough money to maintain quality

employees in the entity in order for the business to survive in the industry. The

team must support the company's mission and vision and stand out from its

competitors.

Word of mouth

One of the best forms of business promotion is word of mouth. Since the

Banana Blossom atchara is a store franchise marketing the goods to onlookers in

front of the business at the marketplace, the proponents would push the product

through sales conversation.

Flyers

Flyers are most adaptable and economical business strategies available

and are essentially sent worldwide to increase the exposure of the company. It

might be announcing a sale, a special occasion, or perhaps the grand opening of

your store. Flyers will also be used by R&R Manufacturing Enterprise to promote

Banana Blossom Atchara, which proponents believe is a cost-effective means of

spreading the brand message.

43

Figure 2.5 Flyers

Social Media

Social media has developed into a powerful marketing tool because of its

high brand exposure and high return on investment. Because they are visible to

the target market and on the internet, social media sites like Facebook are

helpful for promoting a brand because they will help customers build a favorable

opinion of the business. The proponents also use this social media to sell their

products.
44

Figure 2.6 Facebook Page

Tarpaulins

Tarpaulins are great for advertising because they provide a level of

durability and mobility that is incomparable to any other materials. It is long

lasting, waterproof, and adjustable. It's crucial to spend money on a durable,

well-made tarpaulin that will last for many years.

45

Figure 2.7 Tarpaulins

Selling Organizations

The proponents plan to sell directly at the Talisay Public Market. They also

use social media platforms like the Facebook page to promote and sell goods

and to build interest.

Packaging

As a component of the marketing mix, packaging plays a crucial role. It is

also significant for branding, price, and promotional strategies. Banana blossom

atchara is packaged in a 220-ml jar to keep it fresh and prevent product

contamination, and it is sealed; there is a logo of the product on the front of the

jar, nutrition facts, and the ingredients of the product on the back of the jar.
46

Figure 2.9 Packaging at the Front

Figure 2.10 Packaging at the Back

47

Location of sales outlets

The location of the business is in Zone 6, Talisay, Batangas on the first

floor of the public market near the entrance facing the baywalk. The proponents

chose this location because they believe that customers and can easily access

the store because it is located in a public market where people are going to buy

something they need.

Transportation

Transportation contributes to the price stability of several goods. It moves

items from locations with better supplies to those with fewer supplies. As a result,

demand and supply are synchronized, and prices are stabilized. It aids in the

regular delivery of essential items to consumers. The proponents own a

motorcycle that would be utilized as transportation for the business.

Warehouse Arrangement

Warehouses play a crucial role in the manufacturing process since they

are used to store both finished goods and raw materials. In order to run as

efficiently as possible, warehousing operations require careful planning and great

attention to detail. The proposed business would rigorously adhere to the "First In,

First Out" (FIFO) inventory system, which states that all resources acquired must

be used up initially and that the first items produced must be sold first. Using this

method, the oldest stocks would be distributed to clients before the newer stocks,

with the most recent purchases making up the remaining inventory. This

48

procedure allows to ensure that the customer would be received a high-quality

product. The company would be conducted a monthly inventory check in the

warehouse to monitor the quantity of remaining stock.

Budget

A business budget is a spending strategy for the company based on the

revenue and outgoing costs. It allows business owners to predict revenue,

determine available funds, and calculate spending.

A budget can be used to organize your business activities and as a

benchmark for establishing financial objectives. It can help with long-term

planning while also addressing current challenges. (Vidhya Krishnan, 2020). The

budget includes expenses from promotional strategies such as flyers with a cost

of PHP 1500.00 and tarpaulins that cost PHP 2000.00.

CHAPTER 3

MANAGEMENT STUDY

The management is one of the most important parts of starting a business.

The management must be capable of organizing all activities to become

profitable and competitive in the market through human resources, financial

competence, and new technology. This included an examination of officers and

important employees, as well as fundamental organizational considerations like

ownership structure and organizational chart.

The organizational structure of the business as a whole is covered in this

chapter. The organizational structure will be displayed, along with the authority's

designation, their expected tasks and obligations, and the necessary manpower.

This document includes an organizational chart as well as the credentials of

those who contributed to the creation of the business structure and organization.

It needs to be configured and targeted for maximum effectiveness. Due to the

52

fact that it will lay the groundwork for how meticulously the firm will be run, this

study should be given attention. To do this, management must be able to

organize all actions so that the organization may utilize its people resources,

financial resources, and cutting-edge technologies to create a dynamic,

competitive enterprise.

A. Type of organization/form of business ownership

The R&R Manufacturing Enterprise is a partnership owned by two

individuals, namely , Ms. Hazel Annie Rose V. Laurel and Ms. Irish B. Maala. The

partnership will be managed and financed by the partners, making it a general

partnership. The partnership's profits will be split equally between the two

partners. The proponents decided to form a partnership because of its reduced

initial expenses, lower startup costs, and joint liability for any business losses.

B. Organizational Structure / Chart

An organizational structure is a framework that specifies how certain tasks

are to be carried out in order to meet the objectives of an organization. Rules,

roles, and obligations may be part of these activities. How information is

transferred across layers of the organization is likewise governed by its

organizational structure.
53

Figure 3.1 Organizational Structure

The position of each employee inside the R&R Banana Blossom Atchara

Manufacturing Enterprise is represented by an organizational chart known as a

line. The supporters decided to hire a general manager who will be responsible

for managing day-to-day business operations while the operator and two

employees handle production, preparing raw materials, equipment, packaging

materials, and mixing the ingredients, ensuring the quality of the manufactured

product in terms of tastes, textures, presentation, storing and packaging the

finished goods. The other two staff members will run the store.

This form of organizational structure enables an extremely efficient

operation, especially for those starting a business.

54

C. Officers of the business and their qualifications

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise consists of one (1) general manager, one

(1) operations manager, and two (2) workers. In each corporate endeavor, labor

is crucial. Without sufficient and helpful human resources, this type of firm cannot

succeed. The group's members ought to have a high level of skill and the

capacity to assume obligations.

Job analysis

Job analysis is the process of acquiring and examining data regarding the

subject matter, human requirements, and environment in which a job is

performed. This method is used to decide where to position employees.

1. Job title

The job title refers to a set of skills that are based on education and

experience, and it also designates the position's level within the enterprise and

the pay scale. The manager, production personnel, and any other company

participants are all referred to in the study.

Table 3.1
Job Title

JOB TITLE NUMBER OF WORKERS

2. Job description

A job description is a detailed outline of the duties and responsibilities of a

position. It explains what the job entails, how it is carried out, the duties and

obligations that link the tasks together, and the materials and equipment needed

to complete the job. Any employee recruited by a enterprise is expected to assist

it in its activities to the best of his or her capacity in order to contribute to the

achievement of the overarching aim of the company, which is profitability.

Depending on the employees' positions within the company, different duties are

assigned.

General Manager

Many different kinds of companies depend on general managers to be

successful. The daily operations of a business division or standalone retail outlet

are managed by general managers, who essentially serve as smaller-scale

CEOs. The general manager is accountable for making sure that operational

policies, budgets, and personnel are all followed in order to achieve strategic

objectives. Effective leaders with sound commercial judgment, a talent for

coordination, and a penchant for teamwork make for good prospects.

Duties and responsibilities

 Overseeing daily business operations.

 At least a high school graduate

 Willing to learn and contribute his skills to the operation.

 Hardworking and motivated

 Must be physically and mentally fit for the job.

Business Policies

Business policy is a set of principles and rules that direct the decisions of

subordinates. Policies are framed by top-level management to serve as a road

59

map for operational decision-making. It is helpful in stressing the rules, principles,

and values of the organization. Policies are designed by taking the opinions and

general views of a number of people in the organization regarding any situation.

They are based on past experience and basic understanding. In this way, the

people who fall under the scope of such policies will completely agree upon their

implementation. Policies help the management of an organization determine

what is to be done in a particular situation. These have to be consistently applied

over a long period of time to avoid discrepancies and overlapping.

1. Working hours and conditions

The operation will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the

production will be from 7:00 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. with an hour break at the store.

The proponents decided that there should only be day shifts. The R&R

Manufacturing Enterprise typically works 8 hours a day. The workers have

working days of 6 days per week and 296 days per year. Sunday is a rest day for

the employees so they may spend time at home with their families.

The DTR, or Daily Time Record, will reflect the working time. The

company shall observe all statutory holidays, both regular and extraordinary, as

notified by the government. Additionally, the company may plan rest days and

add overtime as needed to complete the assignment.

60

2. SALARIES

Direct employees both receive the minimum wage. Employees will be

compensated based on their labor, according to the Department of Labor and

Employment. Every 15th and 30th of the month, employees receive their pay in

two installments. The standard method for determining salary is to compare the

market pay rates for individuals doing similar jobs in comparable industries in the

same location.

3. Benefits and Incentives

Benefits are a very powerful tool for keeping employees at your company.

Because incentives are based on an employee's performance, they function

similarly to prizes. Typically, the value of the incentive is tied to the outcomes.
61

The company will provide competitive benefits in addition to salaries,

including the following:

 Social Security System (SSS): For employees in the private sector, it

provides and manages a pension fund with benefits for sickness,

retirement, maternity, disability, death, funerals, and employee

compensation.

 Pag-Ibigfund Benefit: For employees who make contributions to the fund,

it offers all types of loans.

 Phil-Health: Every employee has access to medical insurance through it.

 13th Month of Pay: As an incentive, every employee is allowed to receive

their 13th month's pay each year.

 Educating and Developing: Before beginning their careers in the world

of business, every individual needs to receive the required instruction,

training, and growth.

4. Tardiness and absenteeism

The business may suffer from decreased productivity, higher overtime

expenditures, and greater stress among the staff members left to pick up the

slack as a result of employee absences and tardiness. All employers should have

established attendance and punctuality policies and processes in place to help

their businesses.
62

The R&R Manufacturing Enterprise will discipline its employees in

accordance with these techniques if they violate the company's policy, which in

this case is tardiness.

First offense: The employee has to explain how their actions are interfering with

business operations. They will speak with the manager to explain their unethical

activity.

Second offence: When an employee commits a second infraction, the company

will send them a letter regarding their conduct that serves as a warning and

encourages them to explore how they may change their behavior.

Third offense: Depending on his actions, the employee could lose his job or be

suspended.

5. Code of Conduct

 During the manufacturing process, employees should wear a decent uniform,

a hairnet, and a handkerchief. Employees will stick to the product’s standard

packaging.

 All materials and equipment in the product area must be kept clean and orga

nized by production staff.

 During the manufacturing process, production employees are obliged to wear

gloves and masks.

 Except at lunch and break times, production personnel are not permitted to u

se smartphones during production hours.

63

6. Regular Holidays

Holiday pay is an additional payment provided to an employee during

regular holidays. If no work is done on regular holidays, the employee receives

his holiday pay at 100%. If work is done, he receives his holiday pay plus his

day's wage. 100% holiday pay plus 100% daily salary or double pay.

7. Compensation schemes

An employee may be given compensation as payment for services they

render to the company. To motivate employees to carry out their duties and

obligations effectively, any business should provide fair compensation

64

appropriate to the nature of the employees' work. According to their position,

each employee will be paid. The highest salaries among the staff are paid to

those who are promoted to top management. Along with their pay, the company's

employees receive benefits and incentives on the days designated by

management.

CHAPTER 4

TECHNICAL STUDY

Introduction

The production procedures and business operations of the manufacturing

enterprise are covered in this study. Additionally, it lists the tools and machinery

utilized in the manufacturing process as well as other details about turning a raw

material into a finished good that is ready for sale. For the purpose of identifying

the business operation, plant structure, size, and production schedule are all

supplied. Additionally, product requirements, the product processes utilizing the

flow chart, and the list of machinery, tools, and equipment are enumerated in the

corresponding costs.

A. Product

A product is anything manufactured on the market that meets the wants

and needs of customers. The product must be produced using the most

resource-efficient and ecologically friendly processes, and it must fully comply

with all requirements, product specifications, and regulations. The quality should

be suitable for the intended use of the product.

Banana Blossom Atchara is a type of side dish that may be eaten anytime

and anywhere. It comes in a typical size of 220 ml. The Banana Blossom Atchara

offers a novel taste experience because the flavor of the dish can be questioned
66

in terms of whether it tastes like banana blossoms. Customers are bound to

enjoy the unique sensation and twist of the banana blossom atchara.

Uses of the Product

The main purpose of the banana blossom atchara is to satisfy the rising

demand for products that are both healthy and reasonably priced. In contrast to

the previous atchara flavors, the unique experience that its creators devised has

a distinctive yet excellent taste. A popular Filipino snack that is always on hand is

banana blossom. A side dish is a good way to increase your nutrient intake and

reduce overeating during meals. The business was also highlighted by the

proponents because it can cut down on the time you spend when you're rushing

and short on time. Typically, it is a side dish that may be eaten with utensils.

B. Manufacturing Process

A manufacturing process is a way of generating items through the

combination of supplies, ingredients, or raw materials in accordance with a

product's recipe. It is widely employed in companies that make huge volumes of

goods. This method is a key component of technical research because it

provides detailed flow charts outlining the resources and energy needed at each

stage of the process as well as the typical runtime. A step-by-step process is

carefully followed to ensure that the business may maximize its resources at the

lowest possible cost and that the operation runs smoothly and successfully.
67

Description of the process

Step 1. Preparation of raw materials

To avoid food contamination and bacteria, it is critical to wash equipment

and instruments. After preparing the items, workers 1 and 2 must make sure they

are clean, rinsed, and sanitized before using them.

Step 2: Slice the banana blossom into tiny pieces, then put it in the bowl

with water and salt for 5 minutes to ferment the resin.

68

Step 3: After 5 minutes, put the banana blossom in the bowl, prepare the

water, then put it again and boil for 20 minutes to surely ferment the resins. Then,

after 20 minutes, strain it and put it again in the bowl.

Step 4: Add the ginger, garlic, and onion slices to the heated oil and thoroughly

mix them.

Step 5: Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves. After that, add the boiled banana

flower and stir.

69

Step 6: Add the vinegar, fish sauce, salt, and pepper, and wait until the

banana blossom is cooked.

Step 7: Put the bell pepper in the hot water for 5 minutes. Then, when the

atchara and bell pepper are cold, put them in the jar together with the atchara.

Add some carrots on the side. And finally, finish the product.
70

Flow chart

A production flow chart is used to show how a product is manufactured. It

outlines the procedures, tools, and quality-control tests you'll employ to make

sure the product lives up to standards for quality. Before starting up again, any

issues affecting the integrity or quality of the shipment must be addressed.

Manufacturers can create a more effective ordering procedure for their

production line using this mapping process. The product flow chart provides a

visual depiction of that procedure and is simple to distribute. It is also

straightforward to read and comprehend at a glance due to the nature of its

design.
71

A production flow chart sets up the sequence of the production of a

product. It records all events using symbols to represent different stages or

equipment and helps production managers improve manufacturing speed and

quality. Production flow charts are easy to create by hand or with software tools.

to set a daily production schedule for making banana blossom atchara.

C. Plant size and Production schedule

Plant Size

The proponents will rent a commercial space in Talisay Public Market as

their office and manufacturing plant. The plant is 50 square meters in size. The

space must be zoned appropriately and have the required permits in order to

operate the business. The location will be at Poblacion 6, Talisay, Batangas. The

proponents believe that the location is accessible to customers because it is

inside the market and near the baywalk.

Production schedule

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise would operate from Monday to Saturday. It

would be an 8-hour working operation from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 1-hour

lunch break and a 15-minute break in the morning. The store will open at 10 a.m.

to 4 p.m. to sell the product. Rest days and holidays are considered in the

computation of the production schedule per month and per year.

the staff and the consumer while they are within the business. It must also

guarantee that the company has the appropriate kinds and numbers of

equipment so that it can accomplish its production goals.

There will be a requirement for ongoing maintenance inspections.

Although the organization must pay for these facilities, they are crucial in helping

the business generate profits by inspiring a motivated and devoted workforce.

LIQUIDITY RATIOS

Liquidity ratios measure the company's ability to pay off its short-term

obligations. Generally, the higher the value of the ratio, the larger the margin of

safety that the company possesses to cover short-term debts.

Formulas:

CURRENT RATIO Current Asset/Current Liabilities

ACID TEST RATIO Current Assets - Inventories/Current Liabilities
107

CURRENT RATIO

The current ratio is a liquidity ratio that measures a company's ability to

pay short-term obligations or those due within one year. It tells investors and

analysts how a company can maximize the current assets on its balance sheet to

satisfy its current debt and other payables.

ACID TEST RATIO

The acid-test ratio compares a company's quick assets, or cash and

accounts receivable, to its current liabilities. It is one of six basic calculations

used to determine short-term liquidity—the ability of a company to pay its bills as

SOLVENCY RATIO

A solvency ratio measures how well a company's cash flow can cover its

long-term debt. Solvency ratios are a key metric for assessing the financial health

of a company and can be used to determine the likelihood that a company will

default on its debt

• Sharehoder's Equity Ratio represents the amount of assets on which the

shareholders or owners have a residual claim.

• Leverage Ratio measures the risk that the company is exposed from debt

financing. It shows how much capital comes in the form of debt or loans

and assesses the company's ability to meet long term financial obligations.

PRICING STRATEGY

Cost plus pricing involves adding a mark-up to the cost of goods and
services to arrive at a selling price. Under this approach, we add together the
direct material cost, direct labor cost, and overhead costs for a product, and
add to it a mark-up percentage in order to derive the price of the product. Cost
plus pricing.

projected financial presentation of expected activities in the operation of the

business. It is used to identify the most important to identify the most important

assumptions associated to the items shown in the financial statements.

113

Key Assumptions

 The mark-up price for the product cost is fixed at 64% and 12.5% for the

increase in selling price every year due to inflation rate.

 An assumption that 95% of Units Produced are sold

 Ending materials are 3% of Purchases

 Direct Labor are salary of Workers

 Factory overhead composed the salary of Operations Manager, Kicthen

Supplies, Indirect Materials Amounting to 21.06.

 Estimated allocation of factory overhead to rent, Electricity and water is

40% and the 60% are allocated to administrative

 Ending Work in Process is 1% of cost of Product

 Ending Finished Goods are 1% of Cost of Goods Manufactured

 The salaries and wages are expected to increase by 3.698% of the

previous year of salary annually.

 The utility expenses composed of electricity, water, and telephone bills are

expected to be fixed by 3.698% annually.

 Depreciation annually will be computed using straight line method with

estimated useful life of 3 years if the cost of Equipment is less Than

10,000, 8 years if more than 10,000 but less than 100,000 and 10 years

for more than 100,000.

 An assumption is made that 95% of the manufactured products will be

Short-term Employee Benefits

Short-term employee benefits are employee benefits (other than

120

termination benefits) that are wholly due within twelve months after the end of the

period in which the employees render the related service, for example, wages,

salaries, annual bonus payable, social security contributions, and non-monetary

benefits such as cars. When an employee has rendered service to an entity

during the reporting period, the entity shall measure the amounts recognized at

the undiscounted amount of short-term employee benefits expected to be paid in

exchange for that service.

including annual vacation leave and sick leave. Some short-term compensated

absences accumulate - they can be carried forward and used in future periods if

the employee does not use the current period’s entitlement in full. An entity shall

recognize the expected cost of accumulating compensated absences when the

employees render service that increases their entitlement to future compensated

absences. The entity shall measure the expected cost of accumulating

compensated absences at the undiscounted additional amount that the entity

expects to pay as a result of the unused entitlement that has accumulated at the

end of the reporting period. The entity shall present this amount as a current

liability at the reporting date.

An entity shall recognize the cost of other (non-accumulating) compensated

absences when the absences occur. The entity shall measure the cost of non-

accumulating compensated absences at the undiscounted amount of salaries and

wages paid or payable for the period of absence.

An entity shall recognize the expected cost of profit-sharing and bonus

121

payments only when:

a) as a result of past events, the entity has:

i. a present legal obligation

ii. an obligation arising from the entity’s past actions (for example,

history of making payments) that has created a valid expectation in

other parties that the entity will make such payments (this means the

lives of the property and equipment. The Assets were presented in their net book

value which approximates its market value as at year-end. Newly Acquired

assets are depreciated on the month of purchase

DEPRECIATION COMPUTED AS FOLLOWS

Depreciation annually will be computed using straight line method with

estimated useful life of 3 years if the cost of Equipment is less Than 10,000, 8

years if more than 10,000 but less than 100,000 and 10 years for more than

Chapter 6

Socio Economic Study

Introduction

In business, a company's primary objective is to make a profit. The

organization is also in charge of social and financial advantages. The locals there

may benefit from having employment because of this. Contributing to society and

the economy enables a company to be recognized or gain popularity not just in

the business sector but also in the community and in maintaining the Philippine

economy.

Today, there are many food stall enterprises all across the Philippines.

Because these kinds of small enterprises have been promoted to typical Filipinos

by franchising companies, this is the reason. The proposed project aims to aid

the nation's communities and farmers while promoting a healthy lifestyle among

the populace. Small company owners nowadays need to understand the

importance of innovating and launching a venture that will significantly advance

the socioeconomic development of the nation. The supporters of this particular

project take into account every aspect of the enterprise, especially the social

impact. The main manipulator of everything in this world is money. It is the main

means by which people get the majority of what they seek.

A. Contribution to the Government

The business will pay for the required legal documents for the operation of

the business. Business owners have the responsibility to contribute to the

131

government by paying taxes and protecting their customers. Paying taxes was

one way they could contribute to the government because it was a form of giving

back. The tax will be a good use for the government as it can be used to improve

the economy and reduce poverty. It can also be used to fund healthcare,

education, and infrastructure.

B. Contribution to the Society

The Banana Blossom Atchara Business Enterprise will be primarily used

to benefit the local community and the Philippine economy with its earnings upon

establishment. It would generate the taxes necessary to maintain the Philippine

economy stable and fund the local government. These taxes are collected from

the government's revenue. For the objective of boosting the economy, it will then

be transferred to other government agencies and sectors.

Generate Employment

The unemployment rate in the Philippines is high. Those are the people

who did not receive a degree, while the majority do so but are unable to find

employment. The Philippine economy's growth may be slowed by unemployment.

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise may assist those seeking employment,

mostly skilled individuals who have been denied opportunities; nevertheless, they

must apply their knowledge to the task at hand, and it must be appropriate for the

position inside the organization. Given that there was less manufacturing, the

company can also offer jobs to those who are unemployed but wish to work. If

the applicants are willing to work, the proponents may recruit some of them. It
132

has the potential to lower the unemployment rate, particularly in the Philippines,

in the Municipality of Talisay, Batangas.

Society

The business contributes to society by making things better for its

employees, customers, and their families. The business also offers a healthy

product that is safe to utilize, and we employ our product to advance society. At a

fair price, the business provides customers with a nutritional alternative while

also teaching youngsters proper eating habits. Additionally, individuals may also

find a secure environment to work in and acquire clean, reasonable products

from the company.

Consumers

A unique taste of the product will be offered by R&R Manufacturing

Enterprise. Given that doing so will increase customer happiness, the company

will be just enough to charge the consumer a reasonable price and to keep its

manufacturing area clean.

Supplier

In business, the supplier of raw materials or main ingredients required for

production is critical. Suppliers help the company by having all the materials

based on what they have agreed to. R&R Manufacturing Enterprise must have

their own suppliers of the raw materials and other things needed in the

production to have a lower expense, and the company must have contracts with

their suppliers for their agreement.

Chapter 7

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter discusses the study of information sources, research findings,

and suggestions for improving the study's creation. The bibliography, illustrations,

and appendices are all included. It may be relevant to the topic and assist the

researcher in identifying a different, passive approach.

SUMMARY:

The business will be a partnership entity that will be named R&R

Manufacturing Enterprise. The business will offer a new variety of side dish that

is made from banana blossom, which is the banana blossom atchara. This

business will be located in the Talisay public market, which is located in Zone 6

in Talisay, Batangas. The proponents chose this location because they believe

that customers can easily access the store because it is located in a public

market where people are going to buy something they need.

The study was conducted in the Municipality of Talisay, in the province of

Batangas, with 397 respondents. A researcher-constructed questionnaire is

drafted, finalized, and validated to serve as the main research instrument. The

proponents produced nine (9) questions and a likert scale survey. For

Cronbach’s alpha, the initial consistency of the consumer survey is 0.79, showing

that the survey was acceptable.

Market Study
134

The suggested business is related to researching the market study's flow,

which includes price and pricing strategy, demand and supply analysis, business

competitors, and marketing and advertising tactics. Atchara made from banana

blossoms weighs about 220 ml per standard-sized jar and costs P112.00. A

manufacturing company called Banana Blossom Atchara advertises its product to

shoppers in front of its store at the marketplace. The other stall businesses that

offer similar products but different services, particularly in terms of flavor, look,

and cost, could be this company's potential rivals.A social media platform like

Facebook is helpful for business promotion because it is visible to the target

market and on the internet. Flyers and tarpaulins are excellent advertising tools

because they offer a level of mobility and durability that other materials cannot.

The advocates will take into account the marketing tactics that will be employed

to draw in and retain customers. It will discuss how to balance customer demand

with product availability. The Slovin formula will be used to establish the target

market, and a survey will be conducted to compile the list of possible consumers

needed to conduct business.

Management Study

A partnership is a type of corporate ownership where each party

contributes capital, expertise, and resources. The terms of the partnership

agreement govern how profits and losses are split. In the event of any business

losses or actions, both parties will be held accountable. The planned firm

employs a manager, an operator, and two workers in total. A line organizational

135

structure was employed by the R&R Manufacturing Enterprise. Particularly for

individuals starting a business, this type of organization offers a highly effective

operation. A worker must be hired by the company who is a good fit for it, both

physically and psychologically, and who is committed to the task at hand. They

must also be reliable and accountable.

A business policy is a collection of guidelines established by the

company's owners. Federal privacy rules, for example, establish some policies,

while company management creates others. The staff handbook or the

operations manual are typically where you can find business policies.

Technical Study

The manufacturing enterprise will buy numerous machines and equipment

in order to start operations, and the manufacturing flow will be appropriately

followed and implemented. Additionally, office and cleaning materials will be

purchased. The manufacturing enterprise assessed the plant's location, design,

building infrastructure, raw materials, utilities, and appropriate waste disposal.

The proposed enterprise would establish a store at the Talisay Public Market in

Poblacion 6, and its production would also take place there. The company will

properly follow and implement the manufacturing flow, and in order to start

operations, various machines and equipment will be purchased. Additionally,

office and cleaning materials will be purchased. The company assessed the

plant's location, design, construction facilities, raw materials, utilities, and suitable

waste disposal.
136

Financial Study

The initial capital needs of each partner would need to be calculated

based on the project cost. The planned enterprise requires P500,000.00 in

startup capital, of which the proponents each donated P250,000.00. The payback

period for this suggested business is 2 years and 9 months, and there is a 99%

markup on the selling price.

Socio-Economic Study

The suggested company will offer a new Atchara variant that will be

beneficial to society. Additionally, the business will create jobs and advance the

municipality's socioeconomic development. The cost of the legal paperwork

necessary for the business's functioning will be covered by the business.

R&R Manufacturing Enterprise: Banana Blossom Atchara will offer a distinctive

flavor and be advantageous to individuals due to its nutritional value. Given that

there was less manufacturing, the company can also offer jobs to those who are

unemployed but wish to work.

CONCLUSION:

Market Study

The proposed business is located at Talisay Public Market in Poblacion 6.

The business will be advertised on social networking sites, in flyers, and on

tarpaulins to draw in more clients, because these are some of the best ways to
137

advertise a company. In the Talisay Public Market, there are numerous rivals;

however, our atchara is unique from theirs. Our price for a 220-ml jar is just 112

pesos. It will go over how to find a balance between consumer demand and

product availability. The target market will be determined using the Slovin formula,

and a survey will be carried out to generate the list of potential customers

required to conduct business.

MANAGEMENT STUDY

A manager, an operator, and two workers are all employed by the

proposed business. The R&R Manufacturing Enterprise used a line

organizational structure. This kind of structure enables a highly efficient operation,

especially for people starting their own businesses. The organization has to hire

employees who are committed to the job at hand and who are a good match for it

physically and psychologically. They must also be trustworthy and responsible.

A business policy is a set of rules defined by the owners of the company.

For instance, some policies are established by federal privacy laws, while others

are made by the management of the organization. Business policies are often

found in the operations manual or the personnel handbook.

TECHNICAL STUDY

The numerous procedures that must be followed in order to properly run

the planned business are described in this chapter. In addition, it covers various

elements of turning raw materials into finished goods that are prepared for sale,
138

as well as the apparatus and equipment that are used during the production

process. The flow diagram can also be used to define product processes. Each

piece of machinery, instrument, and equipment is discussed in great detail, as

are the raw materials and funding sources for the factory.

FINANCIAL STUDY

The profitability of the project is assessed in this chapter by examining the

relationship between the net income obtained after taxes and the total expenses

incurred throughout the project. The bulk of the company's financial reports are

also included in the bundle. It includes information about the project's overall cost,

beginning capital needs, sources of funding, financial statements, and an

itemized breakdown of the finances.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY

Through the creation of jobs and the payment of taxes, the proposed firm

will contribute to the improvement of local and national economic conditions.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 Given the demographics of the survey respondents, it is proposed that the

pricing should be reasonable. Cost-effectiveness increases sales since

more people are aware of the product and are willing to pay for it.

 Any modifications that occur along the process should be disclosed and

explained, maybe due to the competitive formula and other business

139

expenses. It is advised that the pricing be kept exactly within the range of

what rivals are charging. The varieties of packaging provided should range

from premium to standard, offering clients a choice between the two in

order to secure the company's continuous success.

 It is advised to prepare according to the respondents' interests, and a

strong marketing strategy should be in place to capture the interest of

potential customers. If it were to be realized, it should take into

consideration the elements of company expansion as it establishes the

groundwork for the enterprise's financial stability.

Market Study

Everyone should have an advantage over competitors, and the

organization needs to be aware of specific internal and external aspects that

could influence the activity.

To ensure that the public is fully informed about the manufacturing

operation, the company must employ and implement other forms of promotional

strategies.

Management Study

The taste, quality, and features of Banana Blossom Atchara's product

should be improved in order to better satisfy its clients.

140

Before the company's main operations start, the owners must make sure

that all required documents have been filed in order to ensure that the firm is run

in a manner that complies with the law.

Technical Study

Given that prices are on the rise each year, it is crucial to start canvassing

and buying supplies and equipment as soon as you can in order to save money.

To ensure that the company will be successful, liquid, and marketable, the

location must be taken into account by the business's supporters.

Financial Study

The cost of the product must be greatly increased for the corporation to

see a rise in earnings.

Socioeconomic Study

In order to support the regional and global economies, business owners

should adhere to the following principles:

Corporate social responsibility is a term frequently used to describe a

company's societal duty.

According to survey data, the majority of respondents are female, with a

total of 281 respondents and a percentage of 70.8%, while the total of male

respondents is 116 and a percentage of 29.2%. So it means that women buy

more atchara than men. According to Maitreyi (2021), gender distinctions are

also seen in family purchasing decisions. When it comes to non-gender-specific

products, men and women typically have different preferences. It's due to their
149

disparities in socialization and upbringing, as well as the distinctions between

being feminine and masculine.
