a thorough understanding of the text being analyzed but also the ability to critically engage with it
from a personal perspective. This type of essay demands a delicate balance between objective
analysis and subjective interpretation, as it involves articulating one's own reactions and thoughts
while also considering the broader context of the text and its potential interpretations.

One of the difficulties in writing such an essay lies in finding the right balance between summarizing
the text and providing insightful commentary. It's essential to demonstrate a deep understanding of
the text's themes, characters, and literary devices while also offering a unique perspective that adds
value to the analysis. Additionally, grappling with one's own emotional responses to the text and
effectively conveying them in writing can be a daunting task.

Furthermore, crafting a coherent and well-structured essay is crucial in this genre. It requires careful

rationale behind the interpretations presented. Balancing personal reflections with textual evidence
and scholarly insights can also be challenging, as it requires skillful integration of various sources to

When I wake up the other side of my bed is cold. Prim must of crawled into our mother
s bed seeking warmth in the dark and stormy night. This gives me ample time to get out
of bed without waking her up on this tiring weekend. Well, in District 12 every weekend
is a tiring weekend. District 12 is the coal district, we mine coal from the mines, and send
it to other districts and the Capitol. This means we re also the poorest district in Panem.
Coal mining is not a very profitable occupation. We don t get enough food to survive.

Every day I go to the border that is lined with electric lines.

Sometimes you can hear their buzz, but since we re in district 12 it s usually off most
of the time because of energy shortages. I put my ear close to the lines, it s silent, all
you can hear are the birds and the animals on the other side. A perfect source of food.

The woods are my second home, I learned everything I need to survive in the woods
from my dad. As long as you can find yourself, you will always survive, he used to say.
He would of gone hunting with me today, if he hadn t died in the coal mines. He did
leave pieces of himself out in the woods though, his wooden bows he made for me. I
walk to a log and pull it up slightly, there lies my bow, with a sheath of arrows. I
Essay on The Amish
The Amish

Both the Amish and the Mennonites were part of the early Anabaptist movement in
Europe, which took place at the time of the Reformation. The Anabaptists believed that
only adults who had confessed their faith should be baptized, and that they should remain
separate from the larger society. Many of the early Anabaptists were put to death by both
Catholics and Protestants, and many others fled to the mountains of Switzerland and
southern Germany. Then began the Amish tradition of farming and holding their worship
services in homes instead of in churches. In 1536, a young Catholic priest from Holland,
Menno Simons, joined the Anabaptist groups, who were nicknamed Mennonites. In
1693, a Swiss bishop named Jacob Amman broke off ... Show more content on

And lastly, they must be separate fromt he world. In addition, they feel that training the
child is very important. Obedience and respect of athority must be taught at home. The
home, church and school should teach the same things. They re way of life should be in
harmony with their faith and the Bible.
The Amish are a very conservative Christian faith group, they believe Christ died for our
sins. Many of their beliefs are the same as Fundamentalists and other Evangelical
churches including baptism and a literal interpretation of the Bible. The Amish believe in
remaining separate from the rest of the world, and they reject involvement with military
or warfare. There is no centralized Amish organizagion but all Amish follow an unwritten
set of rules called the Ordung.
The Amish have also faced a few conflicts throughout the years. They are frequently
threatened by laws and regulations made for modern industrialized society. They are at a
disadvantage when it comes to defending themeselves in courts. They do not believe in
going to court to settle human conflict but instead, to turn the other cheek. They had
problems for awhile with the schooling, because the Amish do not attend regular high
schools, and their education only goes up to the eighth grade.
Some confusion has arose about the way the Amish dress. The Amish dress alike because
they believe more in the community than the individuals, it gives them a sense of
belonging.
Education In South Africa
Education is something to cherish not something to take advantage of. In America we
are lucky to have the many opportunities of education where other places education is
not even an option for some. South Africa has the worst education system of the entire
world. This is the biggest challenge the country faces and it needs to be at the top of all
of the priority lists. Gender, social class, race, and religion are also factors that affect the
possibility of having an education.
In comparison with other countries South Africa is ranked at the bottom. The students
lack in all areas of school and their scores are low in all subjects. In south Africa, a
shocking 27% of pupils who have attended school for six years cannot read (The
Economist, 2). This is compared to other countries in Africa where the highest
percentage is 19% in Zimbabwe. The rankings in math are no better than those in
english seeing as how, after five years of school about half can work out that 24
divided by three is eight (The Economist, 2). Test scores prove the theories that South
Africa has the worst margin of test scores. The gap in test scores between the top 20%
of schools and the rest is wider than in almost every other country (The Economist, 3).
This shows that the test scores are very wide in South Africa. Race has a negative impact
because of the Bantu Education Act of 1953 which stated that whites should receive a
better education than blacks. This is discriminating to lesser races in the

J. K. Rowling?s Portrayal of Magical Creatures in the Harry Potter Series as Compared

to Creatures in Ancient Mythology The world famous book series, Harry Potter, has
been an instant success worldwide. This series follows the life of a young boy, Harry
Potter, in chronological order from the beginning to the end of his schooling. Harry
Potter is schooled at a magical school somewhere in England, which is where the
majority of the books take place. He is an adventurous boy who experiences many
different quests and journeys with his loyal friends. This book series focuses mainly
on the many magical creatures from many different types of mythology, some even
including stories with Indian, Greek, or Roman backgrounds. J. K. Rowling, the author
of the Harry Potter series, incorporates these magical animals into the stories? plots and
help to convey several messages about Harry Potter. The mythical creatures that are the
most prominent in Rowling?s series are the dragons and werewolves. The dragon and
werewolf both have origins found in mythology and are crucial to Rowling?s themes in
the books Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of
Azkaban, furthering the messages that Rowling is trying to portray to her audience. In
the Harry Potter series, written by J. K. Rowling, Rowling uses two specific magical
creatures that have many correlations to ancient mythology and help to widen the
