Abstract
This paper is a deeper dive into how to become a makeup artist in Minnesota. Think about all the
aspects that go into what makes a makeup artist starting with a blank canvas to make a confident
piece of art. Understanding how the face shape works to have it easily blend into the person and
complement them correctly is something that is mastered. Overtime practice will make it perfect,
helping others feel their best in glam. The tools and techniques needed for this artwork are only
sometimes considered. This career is important for many big days like weddings, dances,
business meetings, birthdays, dates, etc. The research shows that everyone needs 600 hours of
esthetician before they can take the license exam. The 600 hours need to be done at a board-
approved school in Minnesota. The 600 hours of training will include applying skin masques,
massages, use of facials, application, and removal of makeup, marketing and business
management skills, skin chemistry, anatomy, and physiology. There are two exams that they may
take the general esthetician exam which will test their knowledge of these topics and skills, rules,
regulations, safety, electricity and electrotherapy, hair removal, makeup, facials, skin analysis,
and the science of esthetics. Then there is the state portion of the Minnesota esthetician exam
will test their knowledge of state law and regulations like general information, licensing,
