INTRODUCTION

COURSE DESCRIPTION
A fundamental laboratory course designed to relate and apply the principles and theories in chemistry to
engineering practices. It is a combination of experimental and calculation laboratory.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO)

At the end of this course, the students shall be able to:

CLO 1: Explicitly State experimental observation in relation to specific principles and fundamental concepts of
chemistry.

CLO 2: Answers questions related to the performed experiments.

CLO 3: Discuss the Chemical processes that take place in the environment.

CLO 4: Develop critical and technical communication skills.

CLO 5: Explain the mechanics of alpha beta and gamma decay as well as the correlation between the half lives.

CLO 6: Understand the natural environment and its relationships with human activities.

CLO 7: Understand the natural environment and its relationships with human activities.

COURSE OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT TOOLS

CLASS STANDING:

✘ Quiz and Reports

EXAMS:

✘ Midterm and Final Exams

COMPUTATION OF SCORES
PASSING SCORE: 60%

RAW MIDTERM SCORE: 50%(CLASS STANDING) + 50%(MIDTERM EXAM SCORE)

RAW FINAL SCORE (RFS): 50%(CLASS STANDING) + 50%(FINAL EXAM SCORE)

FINAL SCORE (RFS): 50%(MIDTERM SCORE) + 50%(RAW FINAL SCORE)

NOTE: Scores are transmuted to an equivalent grade where a score of at least 60% would be the minimum
passing grade of 75.
