NARVACAN PEACE AND ORDER:
GREATER GOAL FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE (4G)

Municipality of Narvacan, is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines.
In 2015 census, Narvacan has a population of 44,006. The Municipality of Santa or Local
Government of Santa is a political subdivision of the Republic of the Philippines, in the
2nd District of the Province of Ilocos Sur.
Along with the great potentials of its magnificent natural attributes—a valley
situated along the costal lines of the West Philippine Sea and with vast mountains
and forest reserves. It also banks on its rich history and heritage, a major force in
ushering in the celebration of another milestone for Narvacan, its 441st foundation
day as a town in December.
With its strategic proximity to the acclaimed Unesco wonder city of Vigan and
being the gateway to the Cordillera region through the province of Abra, Narvacan
under the new leadership of its Mayor, Hon. Luis Chavit Singson has highlighted
on further developing the industrial and agricultural sectors in order to overcome
many issues and concerns that brought Narvacan to change its leadership and
administration.

Narvacan is laid out with vast development programs after it was being tagged as a
“once-sleepy agricultural town”. It was also once likened to “a terror town” where
residents are frightened because of the numerous killing incidents during the 70’s
and 80’s. Now, as it transpires step by step as it aims to be among the few of the
best local units, Ilocos Sur’s biggest municipality is aggressively intensifying
programs and project as it implement major development in terms of the peace and
order situation, disaster-risk reduction, , environment preservation and protection
for all Narvacaneos.
