CERTIFICATION

I, MARIA LOURDES G. FERRER, CESO III, of legal age, Filipino, with office address
at ERDB, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UP Los Baños, Los Baños, Laguna,
after having been duly sworn to in accordance with the law, do herein depose and
state:

1. That I am the Director of the Ecosystem Research and Development Bureau

(ERDB) with office address at College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UP Los
Baños, Los Baños, Laguna;

2. That ERDB is operating under its Main Office (MO) and six (6) Research Centers
(RCs) under my full control and supervision;

3. That the Urban and Biodiversity Research, Development and Extension Center,
located in Sitio FORI, Brgy. Pagbilao, Quezon is one of those Research Centers;

4. That the said Research Center has jurisdiction over the Palawan Experimental
Forest;

5. That within the said Experimental Forest, two (2) Apitong Trees with
corresponding 600.65 cubic meters were uprooted due to typhoon Egay;

6. That the Local Government Unit of Bagong- Bayan, Puerto Princesa City
requested for the utilization of the said uprooted trees to facilitate the
construction of banca casco and other accessories to support the project funded
by the Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
(DA-BFAR);

7. That consistent with the Order of the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR) to boost the rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by recent
typhoons wherein DENR field offices may issue wood recovery permits(WRPs) for
uprooted trees;

8. That I have executed this certification to attest to the truthfulness and veracity
of all my foregoing statement and in behalf of ERDB, I do hereby certify my
concurrence with the request of the LGU of Barangay Bagong Bayan, Puerto
Princesa for the utilization of the two (2) uprooted Apitong trees within the
Palawan Experimental Forest in lieu with the project funded by the (DA-BFAR) to
facilitate the construction of banca casco and other accessories”.
