A Good Night’s Sleep

DR. R. E. LAX gives some useful advice to students who are preparing
for their exams.

DR. R. E. LAX: First of all, get some sleep. You must sleep in order to learn. If
you don’t sleep, you cannot do anything well. And worse, you will forget what
you have already learned. As you see, it is not a good idea to stay up all night
to prepare for an exam.

In a study carried out at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, scientists examined

two groups of students. The first group was asked to study all night, while the
second group slept deeply. The results were amazing. The students in the first
group did not remember what they had learned the day before, while those in
the second group remembered everything.

The conclusion is: your chances to do well in an exam are much better after a
good night’s sleep
