And how can we find out the

technical names?
Technical name also can be called as T-code in Sap. These are the short cut access key for the
transaction. It can be visible next to the transaction name in both easy access and IMG, by
choosing the Extras in Sap Menu Bar and then click on Settings. Select the box Display technical
names and save it.

Q2. What is the Length of the following fields and how can we find out the same?

1. Company Code - 4
2. Chart of Accounts – 4
3. GL Accounts – 6 digits

Q3. What are the five phases of ASAP Methodology? Please explain every phase.

1. Preparation of project (as is) – In this phase we sit with the core user team and discuss the
requirement of the business, like what is the process (ex- whether we need to create the
RFQ or directly contact the vendors).
2. Business Blueprint (to be) – This is the decision point in which whatever information we
have collected in the previous phase has to documented with the solution document. We
will explain the roadmap to solve the requirement. Ex- what need to be record in purchase
order etc
3. Realization – In this phase we do Customizations /Configuration, unit testing and core
user training.
4. Final preparation- The purpose of this phase is to complete the final preparation
(including testing, end user training, system management and cut-over activities), to
finalize your readiness to go live. The Final Preparation phase also serves to resolve all
crucial open issues. On successful completion of this phase, you are ready to run your
business in your live SAP System
5. Go Live and Support- In this phase project goes live and the consultant provides support
in the issues.

Sap Easy Access is for End User where they create Master Data and do Daily Transactions and
Reporting whereas Sap Customizing IMG Screen is for functional and technical consultant where
we do Configuration.

 SD for Sales Development where we store the business process of selling, shipping and

 MM for Material management which deals with the material management and inventory
management. It deals with the Procurement Process, Master Data (Material & Vendor
Master), Account Determination & Valuation of Material, Inventory Management, Invoice
Verification, Material Requirement Planning, etc.
 CO for Controlling is used for comparing the actual performance with the planned
performance. It helps in budgeting and controlling the finances of the organization
 HR for Human Resource it records the data of an employee from hiring to termination in
Organization.
 PP for planning production it tracks and makes a record of the manufacturing process
flows, for example, the planned and actual costs

Client is a 'Customer' in SAP. We can say that each customer maps to one client. Within one SAP
instance, a number of Clients can be created. No need to install separate software for each and
every customer. It provides isolation; one client cannot see the data of another client.

Q12. Please explain the different clients and their usage?

000 Client: - We can find this client in the system as soon as we install SAP r/3 software. This is
called master client. Client 000 contains a simple organizational structure of a test company and
includes parameters for all applications, standard settings, and configurations for the control of
standard transactions and examples to be used in many different profiles of the business
applications. It contains client independent data.

001 Client: - This client is a copy of the 000 client including the test company. This client's settings
are client-independent if it is configured or customized. People normally use 001 client to create a
new client.

066 Client: - This client is called early watch client. The SAP early watch alert is a diagnosis
service, for solution monitoring of SAP and non-SAP systems in the SAP Solution Manager. Alert
may contain Performance issue, average response time, current system load, Database
administration, etc..

 Transport Requests (TRs) – is a kind of 'Container / Collection' of changes that are made
in the development system. It also records the information regarding the type of change, the
purpose of transport, request category and the target system. It is also known as Change Requests.
There are two types of TRs -
 Customizing transports contains configuration and they are created when functional
team does the configuration of your SAP system. Ex – creating company, company code
etc.
 Workbench transports contains development work like ABAP programs, custom tables,
etc. that your ABAP development team does in your system.

In general, not always, customizing is client-dependent and workbench is client-independent

transports.
