Time scheduling with WBS

Functions available in time scheduling:


1. Set of dates: Basic dates and Forecast Dates can be used as planned dates. Also Actual dates are available.
2. Check Dates: We check consistency of the dates within project structure.
3. Inherit: Dates within the work breakdown structure can be inherited. To calculate dates of lower level WBS.
4. Extrapolate: To calculate dates of higher level WBS element.
5. Shift: To shift the planned dates
6. Planning different calendars: We can use different factory calendar for each WBS or activity
7. Scheduling: This functionality automatically calculates dates for activities and Networks.

2. Bottom Up (Extrapolate and Extend)

Types of Scheduling:
1. Forward: It consider network start date
a. First forward then backward Pre-requisites for automatic scheduling:
2. Backward: It considers network end date
a. First backward then forward • Network Start date
3. Current Date: Same as forward scheduling with Start date as today's date • Network Finish
a. First forward then backward • Duration (Internal activity)
• Planned Delivery time (External activity)

1. Earliest dates: Forward Scheduling

b. Earliest Finish
2. Latest dates: Backward Scheduling
