The three pie charts makes a comparison about the spending by a school in 1981,1991 and 2001
in the Britain.
Teacher’s salaries was the largest items total school spending in 1981 at 40%, increasing its
percentage to 50% in 1991.This is then followed by a slight decrease to 45% in 2001.
When it comes to other worker’s salaries, in the first given year, it was the second major total
school expenditure,accounting for 28%. the coming two decades witnessed a drop with the
percentage dropping to 15% in 2001.
By contrast, an evident growth was displayed in the all given years with the percentage of
insurance in total school outlay growing to 8% in2001.
Noticeably, in 1981, the percentage of total school spending on furniture and equipment and that
on resources(eg. book) were similar with 15%. In terms of furniture and equipment, it made up
the second item in total school spending, accounting for 23% in 2001. As for resources, the
percentage in that is 20% in 1991 two times as much as that in 2001(9%) .
