Writing An Introduction To An Essay

Writing an essay on the topic of "Writing an Introduction to an Essay" can be a challenging task.
While it may seem paradoxical to struggle with introducing an essay about introductions, the
difficulty lies in the necessity to create an engaging and informative opening that sets the tone for the
entire piece.

To begin with, crafting an introduction requires a profound understanding of the subject matter. You
must possess a clear grasp of what the essay will entail and be able to distill its essence into a concise
yet compelling opening. This demands not only a thorough knowledge of the topic but also the
ability to communicate its significance to the reader effectively.

Furthermore, striking the right balance between providing enough information to capture the reader's
interest and avoiding overwhelming them can be a delicate task. An introduction should offer a
glimpse into the essay's main ideas without giving away too much, prompting the writer to carefully
choose the details and context to include.

Another challenge is the need to adhere to the conventions of essay introductions while still injecting
originality and creativity. The introduction sets the stage for the entire essay, and a formulaic or
uninspiring start can leave the reader disinterested. Finding a unique angle or a thought-provoking
hook requires both creativity and a deep understanding of the audience.

Moreover, the pressure to make a strong first impression adds to the difficulty. An introduction is the
reader's first interaction with the essay, and there is a constant need to grab their attention and
convince them that the forthcoming discussion is worth their time. This demands not only skill in
writing but also a keen awareness of the audience's expectations and interests.

In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Writing an Introduction to an Essay" presents a

multi-faceted challenge. It involves a deep understanding of the subject matter, the ability to balance
information, creativity, and the pressure to make a strong first impression. While it may be
demanding, mastering the art of crafting effective introductions is a valuable skill that can
significantly enhance one's overall essay-writing prowess.

My Personal Action Plan For 2017
Included in my Personal Action Plan for 2017 are several goals that I need to achieve
in order to reach my long term personal objectives. They include, earning a promotion
to Vice President, saving $3.5 million for retirement, maintaining my health, and
attaining an MBA degree. All four long term objectives are specific, relevant to me, in
line with my life goals, and time bound. Most importantly, they are attainable, so I can
set new goals once these are met. Furthermore, I am cognizant of the temporal and
financial resources required to achieve each objective and I am prepared to sacrifice
other lower priority activities and goals to achieve my objectives (MindTools, 2016).
Tactics for achieving short term objectives
To achieve short term objectives, it is important to create goals that are specific,
measurable or meaningful, attainable, relevant, and time bound. These are also known as
SMART goals. Each SMART goal is be expressed in positive terms, for example,
Maintain a healthy weight of 176 lbs , instead of I do not want to be overweight . Not
all goals are achievable concurrently. Therefore, the prioritization of goals is often
necessary. For example, attaining an MBA degree is a major commitment of time and
financial resources. As such, I plan to complete my IT certifications before I pursue an
MBA degree. Goals should be written down, which gives them relevance and makes
them easy to reference and maintain. I plan to update my goals regularly to
Pro Life Movement Thesis
McDuffie 1
The pro life movement is an organization that supports all rights to life. When the pro life
movement is mentioned, abortion is usually the first thing that comes to mind. Although
abortion is a big focal point for the organization, it is not the only issue they address. The
death penalty, assisted suicide, and euthanasia are also addressed within this
organization. The people involved believe these actions to be extremely unethical
because they are for ?the proposition that every human being has an equal worth and
dignity, that every human being has a right to live? (Stark). The pro life movement
actually used to be considered liberal, but with changing times it is now considered
conservative (Miller)
