Warm up: Share the title and the picture of the reading and encourage students to infer what the
reading is about.

Objective discussion: Discuss extra ordinaries careers. Improve vocabulary about careers.

Encourage students to answer questions about the careers they know, which ones they think are

the most interesting and how much they know about astronauts.
Ask students what they know about the subject and elicit some key words from the reading.

Elicit from students some information to generate ideas about the lesson. Then, the teacher divides the
class into small grou11s and gives students a few minute to do the brainstorming activity.

Allow ideas to flow freely while writing the ideas on a sheet of QaQer and then share them with their

As soon as the oral activity is finished. Teach students how to identify the story line and main ideas
of the reading though examples.
Ask students to look at the grammar box and listen to the explanation of the parts of speech:
subject and verb.
Elicit answers and check that students understand the vocabulary about careers. Then, ask students
to give examples from Am1strong's career to illustrate the meaning of the words in context.

Divide students into grou11s of 3-4 and encourage students write a scri11t for "An ordinar:y man",
and
ask students to write a different ending than the original story.

Ask students to work in Qairs and do a Qeer review using the rubrics given by the teacher.
Let students to choose three sentences from the reading and identify the subject and verbs.
Ask students to complete the sentences about the reading with the vocabulary about careers.
Encourage students to answer the questions about the reading.
