Academic Projects

Master’s Project:

Project Title: Contact Stress analysis of involute spur gears

Brief Overview of the Project: To estimate transmission error in a gear system,

the characteristics of involute spur gears were analyzed by using the finite element
method. The contact stresses and the bending stresses were examined using 2-D
and 3-D FEM models. The results of the two dimensional FEM analyses from ANSYS
are presented. These stresses were compared with the theoretical values. Both
results agree very well.

Bachelor’s Project:

Project Title: Thermal Analysis of a Pin fin Using F.E.M and ANSYS.

Brief overview of project: The objective of the project is to determine the

temperature distribution of a Pin fin subjected to heating, using Finite element
method and also by using mechanical application software package ANSYS. The
results obtained after application of these two methods are compared and found to
be same.

Mini Projects

1. Project Title : SOLID MODELLING OF RADIAL ENGINE SUB ASSEMBLY.

Description : Modeling using PRO-E (Wild Fire 2.0)

Part modeling of the components like master rod, connecting rod, piston, etc and
assembly including drawings for production.

2. Project Title: Geometric Modeling of Fuel Injector.

Description: Created the geometric model of fuel injector by Pro/Engineer

3. Project Title : Simulation of Over Head Valve Mechanism in IC Engines

Description: In this project, the geometric model is created by using
Unigraphics and the analysis is carried out by ANSYS.

4. Project Title: Geometric modeling of Ac mechanical fuel pump

Description: Created geometric model of each part of ac mechanical fuel pump
by PRO-E, after that assembly, drafting and different Analysis like clash, contact,
interference also carried out.
