Activity 1

In your opinion, which is the most romantic song you know? Why? Account for your answer.

Activity 2: read sections 2, 4, 5 and 6 from the Act Nº 26.485 “protection to women” and answer the
questions

2.1 What are the main objectives of this regulation? Why do you think it was necessary to create such a
law?

2.2 What is “eradicate discrimination and violence against women in any possible demonstration and
area? Which discrimination and violence events are necessary to eradicate?

2.3 What situations promote and underpin genre inequality and power relations over women? Mention
some concrete examples.

Activity 3: listen to the song ‘Love the Way You Lie’ sung by Rihanna and Eminem and answer the
questions.

3.1 Which qualities and roles are promoted for men and which for women?

3.2 How would you describe the type of love relationship state in this song?

3.3 Are attitudes, behaviors or positions that promote unequal and disrespectful relations between the
members of the couple?

3.4 And attitudes, behaviors or positions that promote equal and respectful relations between the
members of the couple?

3.5 Which parts of the song show inferiority or dependence on one of the members of the couple?
Which rights established in the Act Nº 26485 are not being considered?

Activity 4: Prepare a presentation explaining the different models of couples proposed in many songs.

Include parts of the songs or transcriptions of the lyrics adding brief thoughts of the members of the
group. You can use Audacity to deal with the audio extracts. To make the presentation you can use
Powerpoint or Impress or the online app Prezi.

Activity 5: Make a video about any of the aspects worked throughout this work related to gender
violence and abuse. The videos can be advertising spots or a very short movie telling a brief story so
that viewers get aware and think about some everyday situations in which there are situations like
those. You can finish your video with a phrase or question that allows people to consider such situations
or suggest a way of acting in such an event.

Miren y comenten los videos presentados debajo, que fueron producidos en el marco de la Campaña
Argentina por la Equidad de Género y contra la Violencia: Otra vida es posible 2009-2011. Para el análisis
de los videos, tomen también en consideración el texto de la Ley 26.485.

Actividad de cierre
En grupos filmen un video que plantee alguno de los aspectos trabajados en torno a la violencia de
género y el maltrato. Pueden ser spots publicitarios, o cortos que cuenten una breve historia ficcional,
para que los espectadores tomen conciencia y reflexionen sobre algunas situaciones cotidianas en las que
hay actitudes o conductas de violencia. Pueden cerrar los videos con alguna frase breve o pregunta que
permita reflexionar sobre el tema o sugiera modos de actuar frente a las situaciones violencia.

Los siguientes videos (elaborados por estudiantes de instituciones educativas en el marco del Concurso
de Producciones Multimediales Otra vida es posible) pueden servirles como ejemplo para comenzar a
trabajar.

Para filmar los videos pueden usar la cámara de la netbook. Luego pueden editarlos con el
programa Movie Maker. Compártanlos en alguna de las siguientes
plataformas: Vimeo, YouTubeo Google videos. Recuerden subtitular los videos para que sean
accesibles para personas sordas o hipoacúsicas.
