PRESENTATION
OF THE Introduction to the importance of providing clean and accessible water for
LESSON/DISCUSS animals
ION PROPER
Water is essential for all life, and animals are no exception. Water
makes up a large percentage of an animal's body weight, and it is involved
in many important bodily functions, such as regulating body temperature,
transporting nutrients and oxygen to cells, and removing waste products.

Animals need to drink water regularly to stay hydrated.

The amount of water an animal needs to drink each day varies depending on
its size, activity level, and environment.

What is Watering Troughs?

Watering troughs are containers that carry water for animals to drink from. They
are normally constructed of metal or plastic and are commonly put in locations
where animals gather, such as farms or fields.

Types of watering troughs and their advantages.

of a specific size.

● Semicircular
brackets are
typically less
expensive than
adjustable
brackets.

● The semicircular
shape provides a
wide base of
support, which
helps to prevent
the watering
trough from
tipping over.

● semicircular
brackets are that
they are very
easy to
install.The
brackets simply
need to be
screwed into the
wall or ground.
● adjustable
brackets offer
more flexibility
in terms of the
size and position
of the watering
trough.

● Adjustable
brackets are also
Adjustable stable, but they
Bracket may not be as
stable as
semicircular
brackets if they
are not properly
adjusted

● Adjustable
brackets are also
easy to install,
but they may
require more
tools and time.

● Adjustable
brackets are that
they can be
adjusted to fit
different sizes of
watering
troughs.This can
be helpful if you
have multiple
watering troughs
of different sizes.

Proper cleaning and maintenance methods, including drainage

considerations

Proper cleaning and maintenance of watering troughs is essential to ensure

that animals have access to clean water.
The following steps should be taken to clean and maintain watering troughs:

1. Remove the trough from the wall or ground.

2. Rinse the trough with water to remove any debris.
3. Scrub the trough with a brush and a mild detergent.
4. Rinse the trough thoroughly with water.
5. Dry the trough with a towel.
6. Replace the trough on the wall or ground.

To maintain the drainage system, the following steps should be taken:

1. Check the drainage system regularly to make sure that it is clear of debris.
2. Clean the drainage system with a brush and a mild detergent.
3. Replace any damaged parts of the drainage system.

C. APPLICATION
The students will perform the proper cleaning and maintenance techniques for
watering troughs.
Mechanics:
1. The class will be divided into four groups.
2. Students will demonstrate their understanding of proper cleaning and
maintenance techniques for watering troughs by presenting a scenario in a
group setting.
3. Each group will create and act out a scenario that includes both correct and
incorrect methods of cleaning and maintaining watering troughs. After the
presentation, they should be able to explain the rationale behind the proper
techniques shown and the consequences of the improper methods displayed.
