Hold Reading Circles
➔ Select an appropriate text for your target audience (e.g., article, magazine,
academic book chapter)
➔ Give each learner one of the following roles:
◆ Chair — manages the discussion, ensures everyone can speak and
encourages each participant. Chair comes up with 2 discussion questions
based on the text.
◆ Summarizer — summarizes the text in ____ words
◆ Word Wizard — Help the group understand key terms in the text.
