OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary
Philippine literature as a means of responding to the demands of
the global village; various extended text types; lexical and
contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance,
and behavior; and use of imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and
wh-questions.
B. Performance The learner transfers learning by: explaining the need to be
Standard cooperative and responsible in today’s global village; using
appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using
lexical and contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and
expressions; using imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and
polite oral language, stance and behavior in various information-

C. Motivation  Before we proceed to our
discussion, let’s have an activity
called “Code Breaking”
 We will divide the class into 3
groups
 As what you can see I have posted
a puzzle code on the board that
contains numbers with
corresponding letters.
 All you have to do is to find the
hidden words that are being asked.
 The first group who can write and
raise their flag with their correct
answer will be given points.

Group 1- write the characters from the
story “two friends” and their description
and identify the settings of the story.
Group 2- re-enact the climax of the
story “the two friends”
Group 3- present the theme of the story
“Two friends” through poster.
