NAME AND TYPE OF PROJECT
ACTIVITY COMPONENTS
Through technology we capture the essence of campus with various landscapes and
greenery of the areas in a short film. Additionally, using digital tools like Canva, we
create impactful infographics on food waste and informative posters on waste
management, aiming to educate and inspire the Holynamian community towards a
sustainable future and increase environmental awareness and action.

RATIONALE
Creating and putting green spaces on a college campus can really make a big
difference for students. These areas give students a place to relax and recharge away
from their classes. Being around nature helps their mental well-being, and having stuff
like walking paths and sports fields encourages them to stay active. It's not just about
looks; making more green spaces helps students in many ways, like feeling good and
doing well in their studies. In addition, the main objective of the students is to create a
holistic and thriving environment that supports the overall growth and development of
the students.
The student is also trying to deal with the issue of throwing away too much food.
They want the campus to be more environmentally friendly by getting everyone to know
about and help reduce food waste. Right now, a lot of the food made and served is just
thrown away, which is bad for the environment and society. This group is using simple
things like infographics as a medium to tell everyone about the whole process of food
on campus, from getting it to eating it to throwing it away. They're working with all the
food places on campus, big and small, to make sure everyone plays a part in making
things more sustainable. It's not just a project they have to do; it's a team effort involving
everyone on campus to make sure we're more responsible with how we eat and handle
food.
At the same time, the last project the students of Holy Name University are trying
to deal with the issue of too much waste on campus. The main goal is to handle waste
better and reduce its bad effects on the environment. They plan to do this by introducing
different ways to manage waste and encouraging a sustainable mindset in the university
community. They also want to give information on recycling, composting, and reducing
waste to get people at the university involved in making waste management better. A
big part of the project is to teach students, staff, and others about why it's important to
reduce waste and how to get rid of it properly. They're pasting posters to make people
feel responsible and develop habits that help with sustainable waste management. Holy
Name University hopes to be an example for other schools by showing how to handle
waste responsibly. They want to share what works well and work together with other
schools to make waste management better for everyone. The project dreams of a future
where schools together make the environment cleaner and healthier, setting a good
example for everyone else.
They also see the value in having green spaces on campus. These areas are
meant to inspire students and make them more creative. Green spaces give students
the chance to be in nature, making them curious and giving them ideas.
Additionally, they have a project called Zero Food Waste project at Holy Name
University. This plan looks at the big picture of sustainability by dealing with key areas
like cutting waste, recycling, and composting. It's a way for the university to actively be
more eco-friendly, sticking to their promise of a greener and more responsible future.
The students of Holy Name University have launched a project with the potential
to change the campus surroundings and have a big impact on university life.
The students believe that by informing their fellow Holynamians about proper
waste disposal, reducing food waste to zero, and taking care of the green spaces, they
can make life easier for university staff, workers, and students. They also think this
project can make students more mindful of where their food comes from, encouraging
them to support local farmers and businesses instead of relying on mass-produced
foods that often go to waste. Additionally, the project aims to use water and energy
more efficiently in the food-making and delivery process.
The Visionary Crew is busy with a project called green space, tying it to their
efforts on waste management and reducing food waste. They want to make our
university more eco-friendly and healthy by encouraging simple things like throwing
away trash properly and planning meals wisely to cut down on waste. They believe that
following these easy rules will help make the university sustainable and better for
everyone. Managing waste well is important because it keeps the environment healthy,
and sticking to the zero food waste plan stops us from throwing away good food
unnecessarily, encouraging responsible eating. The goal is to have a cleaner and
greener university that finds a good balance between what people do and what nature
needs.
TARGET BENEFICIARIES
The people who will benefit from these projects are the folks from Holy Name
University. These projects are designed to bring advantages to diverse groups of people
and various parts of the university grounds. Both male and female individuals, as well
as specific sections of the university, are set to gain from this undertaking.
The development of green spaces in schools primarily targets the students, staff,
visitors, and the wider school community. Students benefit from green spaces as they
provide opportunities for outdoor learning, physical activity, and relaxation. Green
spaces also foster environmental education, allowing students to develop a deeper
understanding and appreciation for nature. Moreover, green spaces create a sense of
community and belonging by providing spaces for social interactions and engagement
among students and school staff. Beyond students and staff, the wider school
community also benefits from development of green spaces. Parents and guardians can
enjoy the beauty and tranquility of these spaces during school events or when picking
up their children.
Students will learn practical stuff about handling waste, doing things in a
sustainable way, and how chucking out of foods affects the environment. This will make
them more aware of what's going on at the university, especially the food waste
problem, and might make them act more eco-friendly. Also, seeing this project could get
other students interested in doing green stuff, making everyone more into caring for the
environment and being part of the community. By implementing sustainable waste
management approaches, our objective is to enhance the overall cleanliness and
hygiene of the campus, ensuring a secure and pleasant environment for both genders.
This, in turn, contributes to the well-being and general quality of life for all members of
the university community.
The Visionaries main goal is to make students feel good by getting them to use
the school's green areas for different things like studying outside, working on projects
together, and hanging out. At the same time, a group at Holy Name University, called
The Visionary Crew, is trying to make less garbage on campus in four years. They're
planning to do this by sorting trash right from the start and adding things like recycling
bins, spots for composting, and better ways to throw away garbage. Also, they want to
cut down on wasting food at school to help the environment and make people more
aware of not wasting food.
The students believe that the possible risk that could frustrate the realization of
the waste management project and zero food waste project is the behavior of fellow
Holynamians. It's a common human trait to be hard headed when it comes to
safeguarding the environment and following rules. Unfortunately, many individuals
persist in engaging in harmful activities within the university, such as improper waste
disposal and food waste. This tendency to disregard environmental responsibilities
might pose a potential obstacle to the success of our project. Addressing and changing
these ingrained habits within the university community could be a key aspect in
overcoming this challenge and ensuring the project's effectiveness.
