Discussion Essay

Writing an essay on the topic of a "Discussion Essay" can present both challenges and opportunities.
On one hand, the open-ended nature of the assignment allows for exploration of various perspectives
and arguments. However, this same flexibility can be daunting, as it requires a careful balance
between presenting a coherent argument and addressing potential counterarguments.

construct a well-structured essay that not only presents one's own stance but also engages with
opposing ideas. This involves thorough research, the ability to synthesize information, and effective
communication skills. Crafting a compelling thesis statement that guides the entire discussion is
essential, as it sets the tone for the essay and clarifies the writer's position.

Moreover, a discussion essay demands a refined writing style to convey complex ideas clearly.
Striking the right balance between being persuasive and remaining objective can be challenging, as
can avoiding logical fallacies or biases that might weaken the overall argument.

The Dance Lesson By Edgar Degas
The subject of The Dance Lesson by Edgar Degas appears to be ballerinas or dancers
standing around waiting or getting prepared, such as stretching and tying bows, for their
dance class or lesson to start. The dancers are all sitting, standing down, and stretching
instead of dancing, so it seems they are waiting for their instructor to start the danceclass.
This painting seems to have taken place in a ballerina or dance studio. It appears to be a
wide room with wooden floors to dance on and in the background it appears to be a
mirror with a pole attached, like you would see in a regular dance studio.
Edgar used the difference in lights and darks to show depth in the painting and show
importance. The dancer sitting in the front appears to be

LETTER FROM SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS

Upon reviewing the letter sent by Doris Gormley, OSF, I can certainly understand your
concern and desire to respond in a timely manner. Appearing to be a form letter with
stamped signature may indicate a lack of personal commitment on the part of Sister
Doris, however, does not discredit her organization s concerns for the practices of our
company. Her stance on the representation of all sexes, races, and ethnic groups on a
board of directors may be held by many other individuals as well. ... Show more content

As the same letter was received last year, I will attempt to clarify our management
decisions and stance on the issue.

The board of directors holds a very critical management function within or organization
with the following criteria essential for membership:

Experience as a CEO of an influential technology based company

Direct expertise in the semiconductor industry based on education and management
experience
Direct experience in management of a company that buys from the semiconductor
industry

You are correct in proclaiming that women and minorities are continuing to move into
upper level management positions in the business world; however this diversification
is still in a growth stage. Currently the pool of candidates for our board of directors
tends to very heavily represent the demographics currently holding positions on the
board. As the previously described diversification of the workforce reaches levels
consistent with the required knowledge, experience, which it will in the near future, a
broader range of candidates will be available; naturally resulting in many organizations
being then able to form a board of directors representative of the diversified potential
members. At this time, as it will be in the future, our board of directors is selected with
great care and concern with a primary focus on ability to bolster profits. This is a duty
for which we are responsible to our shareholders.

Delphine Lalaurie: A Killer in Disguise

America has always been fascinated by the notoriety of serial killers; however, there
is not much scholarship on female serial killers and their histories. On YouTube, there
is a podcast named The Big Séance Podcast hosted by Patrick Keller. Within the
podcast Patrick is having a discussion with Victoria Cosner Love about Madame
Lalaurie and her history. Madame Lalaurie was born in 1775 to Barthelmy Louis
Macarty and Marie Jeanne Lovable, the Macarty s were prominent among New
Orleans society, having emigrated to the Big Easy (New Orleans) from Ireland in the
1730s. Victoria is the author of the book, Mad Madame Lalaurie: New Orleans Most
Famous Murderess Revealed which portrays the real life Delphine Lalaurie. This podcast
discussion will be reviewed by the dramatics used by the sources, the aspect of having an
agenda, the credibility of Victoria Love, and the accuracy of their contents.

Firstly, the amount of dramatics used in media can have such an impact on how it is
presented. Such media can be named as: American Horror Story: Coven (AHS: Coven)
and the New Orleans Bee . AHS: Coven is an American television show that premiered
on October 9th, 2013 on the FX channel. One of the main characters of this season was
Delphine Lalaurie portrayed by actress Kathy Bates. Within the show the producer made
Lalaurie soft and portrayed her in such a way that the audience could have empathy and
relate to her. Victoria s opinion is
