Informative Speech Outline for Drums Essay example
Drumming! A history of drums and drumming from past to present.
General Purpose: To inform the class about the history of drums and drumming.
Specific Purpose: At the end of my informative speech, I would like everyone to
understand where drums came from and how they are used today.
Thesis: Drums give the world of music rhythm. Without drums and drum beats, I believe
that music today would not be as good as it is currently.
Introduction:
A. How many in here like to listen to music? How many actually focus on specific
parts of a song? Have you ever stopped and really listened to the drums? B. The
relevance of this is that everyone loves music. Drumming is part of making music. C. I
ve been very interested ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My 2nd point is to explain how modern drumming began and what a modern drum set is
( Ringo starr, ).
1. Modern drumming really began a band from Liverpool, London. You can probably
guess this band (The Beetles.) Ringo Starr, drummer, was one of the first drummers to be
televised playing a rock song with a modern drum set.
2. What is a modern drum set? A modern drum set consists of a bass (or kick) drum, 2 3
toms, 1 snare drum, a hi hat and 1 2 cymbals.
C. My 3rd point is to explain how the type of wood affects the sound of the drums (
Drum shells explained, ). 1. How do you decide on the type of wood for your kit?
a. Mahogany gives you the lowest tone out of the 3 woods. Keep in mind that this has to
be high quality mahogany, like African mahogany. Cheaper mahogany is used to make
cheaper drum sets, and highly affects the tone of the kit.
b. Maple gives you good middle tones. By far, maple is the most popular of the 3 woods
for making drum kits. They provide great tonal range, look beautiful, and there is a large
supply.
c. Birch gives you the loudest of the 3 woods. Some drummers use birch kits for playing
live, since the shells are much louder than Mahogany and Maple. Birch is also a
beautiful wood, and is usually stained.
D. My 4th and final point is this: Drums and drum beats are crucial to today s modern
music.
1. Drumming is found in almost every genre of music.
The City Of Fort Worth, Texas
I grew up in the suburbs on the North side of Fort Worth, Texas, more specifically
Keller, Texas. Keller had a population close to 40,000 people by the time I left for
Texas A M, but when I first arrived there the population was only about 20,000 people.
It is a growing town with a ton of commodities and things to do, new activities are
always popping up, such as the new movie theater that was just built 5 miles away from
my house. Being part of the suburbs of Fort Worth, it is mostly organized in housing
developments, with shopping centers scattered around. In each housing development
there were at least two schools, ranging from elementary to high school. At the center of
the town is downtown Keller, with the Town Hall at the center of... Show more content on

Music has a big impact on my life, it is one of my favorite things in the world. My music
library is so diverse, so it is hard for me to pick my favorite genre, from hip hop to rock to
country. I find it all tasteful. If I had to say may favorite though it would be alternative
rock, mostly because my favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their bass lines are
amazing, and their music has so much heart and emotion in it, it s something that
everyone can jam along to. My least favorite would have to be screamo, an off shoot
of metal. It is just too angry and you cannot understand anything the singer is saying, it
isn t something that is easy for me to appreciate. The Hobbit is my favorite book, the
ore behind it keeps me interested and the way it is written is a completely different
style than today s writing. The writing style almost seems archaic but it has an
elegance to it that is extremely difficult to achieve. My upperclassmen are the heroes
in my life right now. Being in the Corps of Cadets at A M can be difficult sometimes,
and without them motivating me and supporting me, I don t believe I would be able
to complete half of the tasks that I have completed. They inspire me threw greatness
and lead me with strength and resolve. My upperclassmen are who I aspire to be like, I
want to be an example for future Corps members such as my upperclassmen are for me.

Hydrogen Extraction Process For The Recovery Of Heavy Oil...
Abstract
Vapor extraction process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen was originally
proposed by Dr. Butler during 1989 1991. Since its evolution, vapor extraction has
emerged as a very effective and promising technique mainly due to its environment
friendly nature and cost effectiveness as compared to other recovery techniques. Vapex
is basically an in situ recovery process which injects a vaporized hydrocarbon solvent
in the injection well to reduce the viscosity the heavy oil and bitumen and allows it to
drain out of the production well through gravity drainage. Mass transfer of vaporized
solvent to heavy oil and the gravity drainage are the key parameters which mainly
determine the production rate of heavy oil and bitumen with reduced viscosity. This
report provides a brief idea about the current heavy oil and bitumen deposits in Canada, a
better insight of the Vapex process and the factors which affect the efficiency of the
process. Several factors that scale up the performance of the process and important
limitations are also indentified that need further research for future growth of the process.
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
Energy is the most important factor for growth and development. Petroleum being the
primary source of energy can be categorized into conventional and non conventional
forms based on the viscosity and API gravity. Heavy oil and Bitumen are the non
conventional forms of energy which are often referred as oil sands or tar sands having
