The Great Depression Essay

Crafting an essay on the topic of the Great Depression can be a challenging endeavor, demanding a
comprehensive understanding of historical events, economic principles, and their societal impacts.
The complexity lies not only in narrating the sequence of events but also in analyzing the
multifaceted causes, consequences, and the intricate interplay of factors contributing to one of the
most significant economic downturns in history.

Researching for such an essay involves delving into archives, deciphering economic theories, and
navigating through a myriad of historical documents. As a writer, you must navigate through a sea of
information to cherry-pick the most relevant and compelling aspects, ensuring a balanced
representation of the subject matter.

The task becomes even more daunting when attempting to provide a fresh perspective or contribute a
unique insight to a topic that has been extensively explored. Striking the right balance between
factual accuracy and engaging narrative can be a tightrope walk, requiring a careful blend of
academic rigor and accessible language.

Moreover, the emotional and social dimensions of the Great Depression add another layer of
complexity. Conveying the human stories, the struggles of individuals and families, and the broader
societal impact necessitates a nuanced approach. It's not merely a recounting of facts but a journey
into the lived experiences of those who endured this tumultuous period.

The challenge intensifies when one aims not just to inform but to provoke critical thinking and
reflection. A successful essay on the Great Depression should transcend a mere chronicle, prompting
readers to ponder the lessons learned, the parallels with contemporary times, and the relevance of
historical understanding in shaping our collective future.

In conclusion, tackling an essay on the Great Depression demands not only meticulous research and
analytical skills but also an empathetic understanding of the human aspect of history. It's an intricate
dance between presenting facts, interpreting their significance, and weaving a narrative that
captivates and enlightens the reader. While challenging, the process offers an opportunity for
personal growth and a deeper appreciation for the complexities inherent in historical exploration.

American Constitution
PO 201 American Constitution
Oct 15, 2012 1. The most general definition of politics would be the process by which
values are authoritatively allocated for a particular society. More specifically that
allocation speaks to the process where it is decided when, what, who, and how resources
are distributed. Many would say that politics is no more than the art of governing
humanity through deception, and some would even go as far as to say it is nothing more
than conducting public affairs for private gain.

Government has numerous roles but four of the major areas are paramount. Manage the
national economy. It is the responsibility of the government to place checks and balances

7. The Virginia Plan came from a Constitutional Congressional meeting that was
originally planned to revise the Articles of Confederation. The Virginia Plan was drafted
by James Madison yet presented by Edmund Randolph. The concept was a bicameral
legislature consisting of two houses. The lower house was to be elected by the popular
majority, and the members of the upper house elected by the lower house. Both houses
had representatives based on the population of the individual state (directly proportional,)
and would create a strong central government with the states playing a subordinate role.
Interestingly enough the plan did include a judicial and executive branch.
8. There are many points that make the American Constitution such a special and unique
document. Five of the major points of consideration would be: Federalism, separation of
power, built in checks and balances, popular sovereignty, and the Bill of Rights.
Federalism speaks to organizing government based on a geographical division of power.
It keeps the concept that the national government has final authority over all entities. But
it still recognizes that states have power within their borders over issues that are not
defined on the national level.
Separation of power is a concept that seems elementary but many governments have
missed this necessary fact. The three branch organization of the US government has an

Their biggest strength is definitely their stance on diversity. They take pride in being a
diverse company. That quote from their CEO summed it up best. They believe having a
diverse workforce gives them a strong competitive advantage in their market. Having a
strong foundation in diversity helps for a broader scope on ideas for their network. They
also excel in community engagement. The shows they televise help raise awareness of
environmental threats to their viewers. Between their documentaries and their
partnership with Oceana, Discovery excels in spreading awareness of wildlife
endangerment. Where the company lacks is in sustainability. They do not produce a
sustainability report or talk about how the company helps the environment. Based off
what I saw on CSRHub, the company is a bit behind when it comes to sustainability.
Other Fortune 500 companies have stronger sustainability practices in place. Since
Discovery Communications is only a cable network and they do not produce physical
goods, it may be more difficult for them to have the same policies as other companies.
You would imagine that the network in charge of channels like Animal Planet would
have more info on how the company itself takes care of the environment but
unfortunately that information is not readily available. Overall Discovery
Communication has its strengths in its diversity and its community engagement. By
providing a sustainability report and improving the companies impact on the
environment, Discovery Communications will have a well rounded standard of corporate
