Topic: PREPOSITIONS Learning Objectives:

INDI1: Describe animales domésticos y


Materials Needed: salvajes usando adjetivos.
Board and markers.

WHERE ARE THE ANIMALS? Worksheet.

Teacher explores previous knowledge students have by asking the question: Where is the cat?
Then, the teacher introduces the topic by singing the song The prepositions song
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyMrLQ4ZI-4&ab_channel=ScratchGarden) with students.
After, teacher explains vocabulary, writes and draws it on the board. (TEACH UNDER, IN, ON,
BEHIND, NEXT TO (BESIDE), ABOVE, IN FRONT OF, BETWEEN). (1 HOUR).
READING AND WRITING:

This reading can be printed or written on the board. (1 HOUR).

Students work in the following reading comprehension:

I CAN READ
ABOUT: My name is Emma. I went to the zoo
yesterday.
PREPOSITIONS I saw a lion. It was sleeping in front of
a rock.
Draw the animals at the Zoo! I saw a giraffe. It stood next to the lake.
I saw a little monkey. It was eating
bananas on a tree. I saw a big elephant.
It had a long trump and was between
the rocks and trees.
Color Emma! Emma went to…?
The park.

The zoo.

Color the animals Emma saw!

Ask students:
1. Where were the lion and the monkey?
2. What was the monkey doing?
3. Where was the elephant? What does it have?
AUDIO-ORAL:

Students do the following listening activity:


Students color all the animals and the farm in the worksheet. Once students finish coloring,
teacher asks students to cut and glue the animals by following instructions. Teacher then, tells
students to cut an animal and place it in a specific place. For example, cut and paste the cat
ON the roof of the farm. The teacher gives students instructions until all animals are glued on
the farm. (1 HOUR).
