Gun Firearms Should Be Handled
In 1787, when the U.S. Constitution was written, did our founding fathers plan for the
negative association of guns with violence amongst their own citizens? Did they foresee
the advancement of their one shot muskets becoming automatic assault rifles? The news
today is riddled with debates of gun control due to many accounts of our nation s
troubled citizens, to the unaware youth, being able to easily obtain lethal firearms. From
the tragedy of Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech to the death of a four year old by his own
mother s gun, brings to attention to the question of how these lethal firearms should be
handled. Opinions vary from both extremes of the spectrum but as the controversial topic
continues, many gun enthusiasts believe that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

(Almasy) In the Chicago Tribune, Christy Gutowski and Vikki Ortiz Healy write an
article that challenges the required age of handling firearms, they reveal that even at a
younger age, shooting a gun was not a problem but the procedure used to teach the girl
was not up to par. A very common practice is to blame the outcome of guns, but very
few question how the firearms were used.
Through tragedies like, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, we begin to
question as to why such a troubled man was able to obtain a gun. From the analysis of
Adam Lanza s crime, they were able to see that he had first killed his mother with a
Savage Mark II rifle, also being known that this gun was obtainable to him due to the
fact that he was older than 18 years of age. In addition to this firearm, he had at least two
semi automatic rifles and two handguns. The grieved parents and our on looking nation
were outraged at the feasibility of his accessibility of lethal firearms. Many questioned
the usage of semi automatic firearms and why Lanza s mother had owned them, this had
also started waves of pro gun control to make way in the Senate. (Awr)

Essay On Gary Robinson s The Sword Swallower And A Chico
Kid
I have read many biographies, but never one that was told as uniquely as Gary
Robinson s in his novel, The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid. The first part of the
book revolves around a famous sword swallower, known as Duke Reynolds. Here, in
addition to Dukes daredevil acts, antics and escapades, the author gives us snapshots
of behind the scenes intrigues of the circus. The second part of the book is Gary s
story as the Chico Kid, complete with his own antics and escapades. Chico is the name
of Gary s adopted hometown. In the final part of the book, Gary meets an older, wiser
Duke, who becomes his mentor. I couldn t help marveling at how the two, though from
different geographic locations and eras, went through similar early childhood experiences
and later struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction. It is no wonder they instantly hit
it off when they met. Indeed many times we feel our life situations are dire, but then we
meet someone who had similar circumstances yet overcame, which revives our hope in
our situations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having heard so much hype about the book from its description and early reviews, and
taking into consideration my love for the circus, I was convinced I had bagged myself
an exciting page turning read. Wasn t I in for a shock! Granted, I valiantly kept turning
pages, but only in the hope that the anticipated excitement would soon begin! Meanwhile,
I had to struggle through prevalent decadence and despondency in the book. This left me
with an ambivalent feeling about the book, as most of it was a drunken mayhem. The
two main characters consistently ruined opportunity after opportunity, often endangering
their own lives and other people s as well. The book dwelt too much on the decadence,
almost to the point of exalting it. In fact, when a change came, its impact left my mind
almost immediately, especially with the abrupt ending of the book. The decadence,
however, is what lingered
Death Is Impossibly Unpredictable By William Cullen Bryant
Life s Certainty Life is impossibly unpredictable. However, one certainty exists in life:
death. Even though it is certain, it provokes the deepest and most fearful reaction. Why is
death so dreaded? It is something that many find hard to comprehend because of its
finality, mystery, and unpredictability. Deathsurrounds each and every one of us at
every stage of life, whether it is the death of a family member or friend or worse, the
fear of death of someone close, even ourselves. The confusion and negativity of death
can become consuming as people search for meaning and understanding. It is universal,
unavoidable, and inevitable. The concept of death leaves us yearning for answers and
meaning, ultimately culminating in fear of the unknown and in death itself. Although we
may not know the answers, we look for ways to palliate this fear and curiosity through
rituals, religion, or simple self discovery. William Cullen Bryant s Thanatopsis helps us
to understand that death must not be feared, rather embraced. Through depictions of
nature s sympathy as well as death s universality and painlessness, Bryant comforts us
about death and portrays it in a reassuring and positive light. Bryant begins the poem by
establishing both the deep connection between death and nature in life, as well as the
recourse nature offers us in death. He states that when we die we will [lose] each human
trace/To mix for ever with the elements (24 26). By establishing the underlying harmony

Learning from Janus: Pirates of Both Fiction and Nonfiction Showing Evidence of Two
Faced Qualities in Everyone He s quite an honest man, Tom Morgan, on y stupid
(Stevenson 66). Robert Louis Stevenson s classic novel, Treasure Island, is the
foundation on which all fictional pirates have been created ever since the book was
published. In a nutshell, pirates are cunning, but they are also unscrupulous, which can
cause problems not only for themselves, but for other people as well. Stevenson pushes
readers to perceive the burdensome life of pirates, and in doing so, encourages them to
believe that even the worst of foes were once friends and vice versa. One of the themes

Pirates on board the Hispaniola respect Long John Silver in remarkable ways; in one
example, a coxswain remarks, He s no common man, Barbecue, ... He had good
schooling in his young days, and can speak like a book when so minded; and brave a
lion s nothing alongside of Long John! I seen him grapple four, and knocked their
heads together him unarmed (Stevenson 77). Silver is very educated and intelligent,
but yet he is also brutal, disingenuous, and fraudulent. Blackbeard is easily comparable
through bravery, He fought desperately with sword and pistol until he fell with 25
wounds in his body (World Book). Blackbeard may be especially villainous, but he is
also very dogged, tenacious, and fearless. A quote from Blackbeard himself, Only the
devil and I know the whereabouts of my treasure, and the one of us who lives the
longest should take it all. Blackbeard is stubborn and is determined to keep the
location of his sacred treasure a secret. It s a hard knock life. Sure it may be a

Aqua Fish Canada Inc. (AFC) Additional Information

May 2007 to April 2009 Update Over the past two years, AFC has faced more intense
competition, particularly from aquaculturists in Chile. In addition, Chilean output has
increased the supply of salmon and the Canadian dollar has strengthened in relation to
the U.S. dollar. As a result, AFC has been unable to meet its budgeted revenue targets.
Stocks of unsold harvestable fish have increased, as well as the corresponding cost of
maintaining the fish, and the company barely made a profit in fiscal 2009. In January
2009, AFC lost one of its largest retail customers, S F Seafood, to a new salmon
aquaculture firm, Nu Farm Inc. This new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Guy Mills provided the board with a summary of selected site and segment data (see
Appendix 1), and reported that the decreased profits in 2009 were caused by the Site 3
problems, the decrease in market value, the strengthening Canadian dollar versus the
U.S. dollar, and the increased feed costs. He also indicated that he expected the four
sites to yield an average of 3.8 million kilograms (950,000 kilograms per site) of
harvested fish per year, assuming that no further unusual losses were incurred. Given
the current market conditions and the risk of having to decrease prices or lose export
sales to the U.S., the board decided that the company should move into other markets
and diversify into shellfish farming. No dividends would be paid for the next year or
two to free up some cash to invest in new projects. The board directed Mills to investigate
establishing shellfish aquaculture sites and develop a business strategy for increasing the
profitability of the current salmon operations. They indicated that any proposed
investment should generate a minimum after tax return of 10% within five years.
Shellfish Aquaculture Opportunity Mills explored opportunities for diversifying into
shellfish aquaculture. He found two potential opportunities (a mussel farm and an oyster
farm) and wondered which one should be pursued or whether both should be pursued. A
summary of the costs and yields for establishing these farms is provided in
