 Synopsis
Munnudi is a story that revolves around Shivu, a village boy who dreams of studying
and excelling in the field of science someday. The story is set in rural Mandya in 1990s.
He is taken off school at a young age and is sold off to a jaggery mill as bonded labour.
One day Shivu's curiosity is triggered by droplets from leaky roof. He accidentally
discovers the raindrops to behave like a lens thus starting his journey of various
experiments at home. As the story progresses, the jaggery mill is forced to shut down
due to debt.
This provides an opportunity for Shivu and other kids to enrol in a school. The boy who
dreamt of being big someday starts to study well. As he discovers a homegrown
experiment, he is accused by his science teacher of stealing a piece of equipment from
the school lab and punishes Shivu. Not long after, the teacher realises, it wasn't the boy
who stole the equipment. However, Shivu simply has lost passion for his studies unlike
before. The teacher repents his actions and tries to cheer him up along the way and
struggles to motivate him. After all the effort, the boy gets back his interest and starts to
regain his lost passion. He walks the heights and wins numerous competitions, thus
beginning his journey in science.
