Phoenix travel questions!

My first time in Phoenix and the US- please help!

Oct 23, 2019, 11:55AM
I’m flying into Phoenix from Mexico City next week. It’s my first
time traveling to the U.S., and I’ve heard that immigration and
FridadelDF customs can be very difficult. Do you have advice to make my
entry easy?

PHXwanderer Hey there, FridadelDF. My best advice to you is to check the

visa requirements before your departure. It’s possible that
you have to have some paperwork ready to show immigration
officials as soon as you arrive. If you’re traveling on a tourist
visa, I think you’ll need to show a completed application, plus
your return flight ticket. I’m not completely sure. When you
check the U.S. Immigration website, make sure you look at
requirements for Mexican citizens specifically. Don’t worry too
much about customs. Before you pack your bags, make sure
you see the list of items that you can’t bring on the website.
It’s pretty similar to most countries. You can’t bring weapons,
fruits and vegetables, more than $10,000 cash, and several
other things. If you bring any of the restricted items, you have to
declare them while you’re filling out the immigration form. Then,
after you pass through immigration, customs will check them.

Visiting Phoenix this weekend and I love the

outdoors! Any advice?
Jan 16, 2020, 10:07PM
I’ll be in Phoenix for 5 days next month on business. I’ll have
NYhiker89
two free days, so I want to get away for a nice hike. I may want
to trek for two days if possible. But, I’m on a budget, so I don’t
have the money to rent a car. I’m not sure where to go or how
to get there. Please help!

GoSuns78 Hey NYhiker89, you’re in luck if you want to hike in

Phoenix! I would recommend South Mountain Park. If your
accommodations are in downtown Phoenix, it’ll be easy
for you to reach. We have many rideshare services here in
Phoenix, which are cheaper than taxis. Whenever you’re
ready to go, just order the ride with a rideshare app on your
phone. When you start hiking, you’ll see beautiful canyons,
amazing wildlife, and spectacular views of the city. The park
isn’t big enough for a trek over several days, but you can spend
several hours hiking before you go back to your comfortable
accommodations.

dryheat120 I agree with GoSuns78. Also make sure you bring a backpack
with sunscreen, snacks, and plenty of water. Binoculars would
be a good idea too. Oh, and don’t forget that we have many
dangerous animals like snakes and scorpions here in Arizona.
Before you leave home, make sure your insurance covers you
for any accidents in Arizona.

A trip for one or two days outside of the city? Any

suggestions?
Feb 24, 2020, 4:32PM
I moved to Phoenix recently, and I want to go on a fun weekend
newAZgirl
excursion with my sister who’s visiting. I’ve already been to the
Grand Canyon, so I’m looking for something new. I don’t want
to drive more than 2 or 3 hours. Can someone suggest a good
place?

ASUfan83 Here’s a simple itinerary for you: Drive to Tombstone in the

morning, see the Old West sites, and have lunch. Later in the
afternoon, drive to the beautiful town of Bisbee- it’s only 30
minutes away! After you find your accommodations, choose
one of the great restaurants downtown, and then go see some
live music. In the morning, have breakfast at Cafe Bisbee. They
have great pancakes and coffee. While you’re eating breakfast,
you can plan your whole day of shopping in Bisbee’s many cute
shops. Enjoy!
