Experiment # : Redox Reaction

Aim: To identify three substances as oxidizing and reducing agents. Apparatus/Materials:


Substances A, B, C (hydrogen peroxide, household bleach and ethanol), H /K Cr O (aq.), +

Method:
1. To separate test tubes, add about 2 cm depth of H /K Cr O (aq.), H /KMnO (aq.) and

2. Add 10 drops of substance A to each test tube, shake and record observation in a
suitable table.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 using substances B and C.
