I have lived in the
same place since I was
born.
Present perfect
We use the present perfect:
for something that started in the past and continues in the
present:

Example:
They've been married for nearly fifty years.
Example:
She has lived in Spain all her life.
We use the present perfect:
when we are talking about our experience up to the
present:

Examples:

He has written three books and he is working


on another one.
Examples:
I've played the guitar ever since I was a teenager.
We use the present perfect:
for something that happened in the past but is important in the
present:

Examples:
They can't get in the house. They have lost my keys.
Examples:
Teresa isn't at home. I think she has gone shopping.
We always use The Present Perfect with the verbs “Have and
Has”.

HAVE: I, You, We, They.

Has: He, She, It.


We use the past
participle with
tense.
PAST PARTICIPLE - When you use these verbs, they finish
with ado, ido

Examples:
She has written a lot. - She's written a lot.
Examples:
I have danced the all night. -
I 've danced the all night.
STRUCTURE - Affirmative Statements

Subject + have/has + verb in past participle+ complement

Examples:
We have studied a lot for the exam.
Examples:
Alisson has gone to the mall 3 times this week.
STRUCTURE - Negative Statements

Subject + have/has + not + verb in past participle+ complement

Examples:
We have not studied a lot for the exam.

Alisson has not gone to the mall 3 times this week.


Questions - Present perfect

Have/has + subject + verb in past participle+ complement + ?

Examples:

Have we studied fot the exam? - We have studied a lot for the exam.

Has Alisson gone to the mall? - Alisson has gone to the mall 3 times this
week.

ADVERBS IN PRESENT PERFECT

We use some adverbs in present perfect:


Never (Nunca): We use “never” in affirmative
sentences butthemeaning is negative.
Example: I have never studied French.

Ever (Alguna vez) : We use ever in interrogative


sentences.
Example: Have you ever eaten brocoli?
Just (Justo, Acaba de, recientemente): We use “Just”
toexpress a recently completed action.

Example: She has just finished the homework.

Already: (ya) We use it to express that something


has happened sooner than expected.

Example: We have to prepare the dinner.


Don't worry, we have already prepared the dinner.
Yet: (aún) We use it in interrogative and negative
questions. It suggests a time later tan expected.

Example: Have you done the exam?


No, I haven't done the exam yet.
