The Wild West is known for its cowboys and gunslingers. In the Wild West the pistol

So the raft drifted away from the mine so when Colt set off the mine it blew mud and
water all over the viewers. This did not make the men happy. Three of the men came
over and Colt was about to be thrown into the river when a young man by the name of
Elisha K. Root came and stopped them. This man would later help Colt by designing
most of the different machines that would make revolvers (Peterson 209). In 1836
Samuel Colt was granted a U.S. patent for a cap and ball pistol with a revolving
cylinder that could fire five or six shots before reloading (Silva). After finally getting
the patent, Colt bought a large tract of land about two hundred acres in Hartford
Connecticut where he built a giant new factory where he started producing many
revolvers. Colt made three different models of his revolvers and he also made
carbines, rifles, and shotguns. Colt s revolvers became big. The Connecticut River
was next to Colt s land and would flood that land every spring. So Colt hired hundreds of
laborers to work on building a dyke to keep it from flooding. The dyke was one of the
biggest in America at a mile and three quarters long. Colt s dyke was completed in 1854
(Haven). The United States was the first nation to give its troops a revolver. Colt s
revolvers were used in the Mexican war. After the massacre at the Alamo, the Texas
Rangers, with Colt revolvers in hands charged the Mexicans shouting remember the

Speech On Environmental Pollution
Pollution is a big problem in this day and age. Some pollution comes from burning gas
to fuel our cars or some other forms of pollution comes from volcanoes. Carbon
dioxide is the main pollutant warming the earth. But if we start producing less carbon
dioxide then the earth will heat up even more. I know it s crazy right. Carbon dioxide
can be produced by cars, planes, power plants, and many more activities that involve the
burning of gas. Did you know that within the past 150 years we humans have produced
the highest level of sulfur dioxide. Yes it s true. When volcanoes erupt they produce
sulfur dioxide which causes pollutionbut in this world today humans produce the most
amount of sulfur dioxide. You might be asking yourself what are other humans doing
to help prevent pollution? Well, some industrialized countries are trying to help
prevent pollution a little bit more. But we can help them with that by driving/flying
less or recycling more. So let s throw our best efforts in to help save our atmosphere.
The most polluted city in the world is Dehli, New York. Delhi, New York is so
polluted that there is a little bit of a yellow tint in the sky. Matthieu Daley spent 5 days
taking pictures all around Delhi and in his photographs you can see a little bit of
yellow over the sky. We can see physical results of pollution in his photographs. No one
wants to have yellow skies so let s throw in a helping hand and do more for the
atmosphere.
There is actually water pollution
Life Changing Events Of Domestic Abuse
Nothing could prepare me for the life changing events of domestic abuse. Starting at a
young age, I witnessed my mother struggle with abusive men all my life. Ironically, I
used to tell myself I would never let a man do those harmful acts to me. Until it
happened to me. The daily struggle trying to leave this man paralyzed me; it was a
daily grapple which lasted eight years. Ultimately, I became a drug free junkie and
grew an addiction to this man. A man who turned out to be a real live Incubus. This
demon of seduction took control over well beyond my dreams. This predator
controlled my mind, body, and soul through his abusive ways. The emotional abuse
nearly destroyed me. This feeling overpowered my mind, crushed my heart, and
conquered my soul; it defeated me. In the end, I couldn t subdue the feeling of being
demoralized. With the constant humiliation accompanied with teasing in front of
friends and family. Belittling my worth as a human being, it s almost like he was
forever jealous of others around me. I couldn t prevent believing his skewed reality.
The creature constantly crossed my personal boundaries, and stripped my individuality.
This soul snatcher robbed my own self worth, and eventually, I became docile. Sadly, I
stopped interacting with my loved ones; I stopped talking. My voice was lost. This man
had the classic traits of the lazy bum dead beat syndrome. He did nothing other than sit
in the house all day. Smoking weed, doing drugs, and playing video games
The Sandinista Revolution
Plan of Investigation
The following research will discuss how the Nicaraguan Economy was affected by the
revolution between 1976 1979. The funding of the United States was giving to
Nicaragua and it not going to the proper places. This eventually affected the countries;
United States and Nicaragua. This research will be concentrate upon 1976 1979. Some
topics that will be talked about will be what was the actual Sandinista Revolution, what
the economy was before the revolution and how it was affected after. Some of the
sources I will use would be, The Aftermath of the Sandinista Revolution , by Stuart A.
Kallen. This is valuable source because it explains who were the Sandinistas and how
they came to be and what exactly happened after the ... Show more content on

In 1967, a man known as Anastasio Somoza, was announced as president. Since his
father, Somoza Garcia, was already disliked it did not help him at all when he was
announced president. Anastasio let the power of being president get over his head and
eventually enriched himself. In civilians eyes he was corrupt and he proved that when an
earthquake hit Nicaragua. He had declared to use the emergency powers and while that
took place he headed a different direction. He decided to steal the aid coming in for
Nicaragua for himself. This was one of the main reasons why the Sandinista Revolution
came to be, known as the Sandinista National Liberation Front. The Sandinistas did not
believe that the message they were trying to get towards the Nicaraguan business
negotiators so they decided to take things into their own hands and measures. This lead
to the kidnapping of certain powerful people in politics to make a statement towards
them. the Sandinistas continued to revolt towards the regime and started to gain support
of Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, and Cuba. This continuation of fighting the regime
went on until the middle of 1979, when the Somoza Rule had lost power of Nicaragua.
The Sandinistas gained control of the new government of Nicaragua. Once the
Sandinistas gained control of Nicaragua, drastic changes took place. Somoza had
decided to run for president even though it was unconstitutional. The Constitution states
that the terms of presidency is only 2 terms as is in the United States, but Somoza did
not care and ran presidency again as a third term. The economy went down after that as
well. The Sandinistas had at first thought of helping the people but power made them see
and showed them how to use it in a different
Algebra Research Paper
Algebra is the bridge between basic and complex math; it ties together basic arithmetic
with complex formulas and proofs. The first time I encountered algebra was in 7th grade
after learning about graphing equations. Our curriculum is set up so that our minds learn
what they have to first so that when special maths such as Algebra. A person must first
master the basic tools of mathematics before they go into learning algebra. Perhaps what
makes algebra so special is the fact that it can be used along side any other math. It is
never impossible to incomplete Algebra when problem solving.

Algebra first began in ancient Egypt and Babylon people first began solving linear
