Course Objective – This subject would help in increasing knowledge of students about the business
environment and its components. In improving understanding of the role of entrepreneurship in the
economy and the dynamic role of entrepreneurship and small businesses.

Module-II: Economic Environment

Nature of Economic Environment. Economic factors-growth strategy, basic economic 8


system, Economic Reforms, Concept of FEMA, Concept of Monetary and fiscal policies,
Concept of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization of Indian Economy, Trends and
Issues

Module-III: Socio-Cultural Environment

Nature and impact of culture on business, culture and globalization, social responsibilities
of business, social audit, business ethics and corporate governance, Demographic 8
environment population size, migration and ethnic aspects, birth rate, death rate and age
structure in India

Module-IV: Political Environment

Functions of state, economic roles of government, government and legal environment. 8


The constitutional environment, rationale and extent of state intervention

Module-V: Technical Environment

Innovation, technological leadership and followership, sources of technological dynamics,


impact of technology on globalization, transfer of technology, time lags in technology 8
introduction, Status of technology in India, Management of Technology, Features and
Impact of technology.
Course Outcome: After completing the subject the knowledge and awareness level of students regarding
the business environment will increase. Also, it will help students to understand the impact of monetary
policies and fiscal policies on the business environment.
