Please make up your own data and analyze statistically the frequency distribution and percentiles
of the obtained data and interprete the findings as best as you could.

A. Problem
A language teacher teaches at a high school for class XI students. He provides learning
materials on literacy which include Novels, Poetry, and Prose. After that, to strengthen the
knowledge of literature, the teacher gave 15 multiple choice reading questions. From this
problem, the teacher wanted to know the frequency distribution of students' reading
competence.

D. INTERPRETATION
1. There were ten seventh grade students in the Junior High School who took the
reading test on descriptive texts of a person, an animal, and a procedure. Their
reading competencies were scored 0 to 100. Each item was weighted 4, therefore, the
scores were ranged between 0 to 100 because there were 25 items.
2. The students’ raw scores in descriptive text of a person are 10(10%); 20(10%), 30
(10%), 40(10%), 50(10%), 60(10%),70(10%), 80(10%), 90(10%), and 100(10%);
3. The students’ raw scores in descriptive text of an animal are 10(30%), 20(10%), 30
(10%), 40(10%), 50(10%), 60(10%),70(10%), 80(10%);
4. The students’ raw scores in descriptive text of a procedure are 20(40%), 30 (30%),
40(10%), 50(10%), 60(10%).

E. Conclusion

1. There were 50% the students’ raw scores in descriptive text of a person lie below the
score of 60;
2. There were 70% the students’ raw scores in descriptive text of an animal lie below
the score of 60;
3. There were 90% the students’ raw scores in descriptive text of a procedure lie below
the score of 60;
4. Overall, the seventh grade students’ reading competency was the lowest when they
comprehended descriptive text of a procedure and the highest in descriptive text of a
person.
