Hello,

We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the first step of our hiring process for the Content
Writing Internship with Icy Tales Ltd.

As a dedicated and creative writer, your ability to effectively communicate and engage
audiences is paramount.

To proceed with the screening process, please choose one of the following options to
demonstrate your writing abilities:

Option 1 - Only if you’ve written online before

Submit Previous Writing Samples: Provide us with a selection of your non-AI-generated writing
samples. These should be recent and reflect your ability to produce compelling content.

If you're sending an existing sample, please ensure it has your name on it - and it's an existing
blog post online. Not a service page or something else. Please provide the link to published
articles only. No need to send documents or pdf.

Option 2

Write a New Article: Create a new, original article of approximately 500 words or more on a
topic relevant to our sites, such as those found on icytales.com, icycanada.com, or
usatales.com.

Check articles on icywhiz.com, sewingtales.com, icytales.com, usatales.com and

icyfitness.com to get a drift on what you can write.

Your article should be informative engaging, and include external links to the mentioned sites or
other authoritative sources.

Publish it on a CMS Platform of your choice and create your writing portfolio:

As part of this screening, please publish your article on a personal FREE WordPress site or any
other CMS platform like wordpress.com or blogger.com

You will be working on WordPress CMS with us, so we recommend signing up for your own free
personal blog on wordpress.com
You can choose your own topic, or we can help you choose one. Importantly, write on a
subject that you think will be useful for the icytales.com audience – but write for your own
blog, which you can have as a portfolio.

This will demonstrate your technical skills and familiarity with content management systems, an
essential part of the content writer's role.

***Extra bonus points if you write a new article and make it part of your portfolio. Even more
brownie points if you create your own portfolio site for this task - as it shows your
commitment to the role. Even a short 400-500 words sample on your OWN portfolio blog on
wordpress.com or blogspot.com or blogger.com is fine.

When interning, should you write even one article a day for 5-6 days a week, you can easily
make 4,000 plus a month with us.

To Note:

When you start an internship with us, don't worry - our editors will guide you for it.

Additionally, having your own blog is something you would want as a writer writing online, so
it's great for your portfolio!

Please submit your previous writing samples or the link to your newly written article to us in
the next five days.

What should you focus on when writing your sample?

Focus on the following when writing the article and publishing it on your own blog (remember,
it's always a good idea to focus on the basics when writing):

- Do not rewrite or rephrase. Write from research and look at any reference article holistically
for information.

- Do not copy lines of numbers and stats and data or a table of contents from other sites

Take a look here - https://wordpress.com/go/content-blogging/how-to-write-an-article/

Read these to know what type of articles you want to write on. Don't be too creative; we need
to see some research in your portfolio article.
Keep in Mind when writing your sample article:

- Give correct facts in the article. Factual accuracy is important.

- Do not use any AI tools to rephrase or write.

- Learn what hyperlinking is (including on WordPress, for instance). In your article, you can use
several sources to hyperlink. Look for sources from scholar.google.com

- Learn to hyperlink to other sites. Try linking to one of our sites as well from your content, like
icytales.com, icycanada.com, scoopcanada.com, icyhealth.com, icyeurope.com or icywhiz.com

When hyperlinking, it's very important you only link to articles on the same topic. For instance,
if you are writing an article on 7 Reasons Doctors Love Apples, try linking out to an article
related to the benefits of apples on icyhealth.com

- Ensure anchor text (or the words you highlight for the hyperlink) are never more than 3-4
words and is relevant. For example, in the above case, one of the anchor texts can be
"benefits of apples" or something similar.

sentences that flow!

Important Note:

For both options, your submission must be:

style.
