Statement of Purpose

To the Admissions Committee,

I am writing to express my earnest intention to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
program at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). My fascination with computers
began at a young age, fostered by an innate curiosity about how complex systems work and a desire to
create impactful solutions through technology. This interest has matured into a dedicated pursuit of
knowledge in computer science, guiding my academic choices and extracurricular activities. It is with
this background and forward-looking ambition that I seek to join LUMS, a prestigious institution
known for its rigorous academic environment and its commitment to fostering innovation and
leadership.

Throughout my academic journey, I have strived to excel and push the boundaries of my
understanding and skills in computer science. I secured top grades in my O and A levels, particularly
excelling in mathematics and computer studies, which laid a solid foundation for my passion. My
participation in national coding competitions has not only honed my programming skills but also
taught me the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and strategic thinking. Moreover, my selection
for an internship at a leading tech company provided me with invaluable industry exposure, where I
contributed to a project focused on developing a more efficient data analysis tool. These experiences
have cemented my resolve to pursue a career in computer science and have prepared me for the
challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

My career goal is to become a software engineer, specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) and
machine learning (ML). I am particularly drawn to the transformative potential of AI and ML in
addressing complex societal problems, from improving healthcare outcomes to creating sustainable
cities. I believe that LUMS, with its state-of-the-art facilities, esteemed faculty, and a vibrant
community of like-minded individuals, is the perfect environment to nurture my ambitions. I am eager
to engage with the diverse academic offerings at LUMS, including interdisciplinary courses and
research opportunities that align with my interests in AI and ML.

Beyond academics, I am passionate about using technology for social good. I have volunteered with
non-profits to develop websites and apps that support their missions, such as a mobile application that
connects donors with local food banks. At LUMS, I look forward to contributing to the university's

local and global challenges.
