Study on Why Senior High
Graduates Should Pursue
Financial Accounting in
College”

Background of the Study

The research problem of this study is how does a


college education in financial accounting contribute
to the long-term career prospects and financial
accounting as a major in college. According to the
blog on Harvard Business School Online entitled
“Why learn accountancy”, “No matter your current
role, learning about financial accounting can be
highly beneficial.” This study discusses the benefits
of choosing financial accounting as a major in
college.

This study aims to identify the reasons on why


senior high graduates should take financial
accounting as their major. This study is significant
because it can aid students in making decisions on
courses in college.
Statement of the Problem

The research problem for this study would be the


inadequate awareness and understanding among
senior high students regarding the advantages and
significance of pursuing financial accounting as a
college major. This study aims to identify the
different reasons on why students should take
financial accounting. The following are the research
questions:

1.What are the potential challenges or barriers that


senior high graduates might face when choosing
financial accounting as their college major, and
how can these challenges be addressed?

2.How does a college education in financial


accounting to the long-term career prospects and
financial theory of senior high school graduate?
3.What are the specific benefits and advantages of
pursuing financial accounting as a major in
college for senior high graduates?

There are many political challenges that senior


high graduates might face when choosing financial
accounting as their college major such as financial
problems. There are many ways that financial
accountancy can contribute to a person’s long-
term career prospects and financial literacy. There
are different benefits and advantages of pursuing
financial accounting as a major in college.

Limitations of the Study


While this study aims to provide valuable
insights into the reasons for senior high students to
pursue financial accounting, it has certain
limitations:

1. Geographic Limitations: The research will be


conducted in a specific geographic area,
limiting the generalizability of findings to a
broader population.

2. Time Constraints: Due to time constraints, the


study may not comprehensively cover the
long-term career outcomes of financial
accounting graduates.

3. Sampling Bias: The study relies on a sample


of senior high school students from specific
schools, which may introduce sampling bias.

4. Self-Reporting: Data will primarily be


collected through surveys and interviews,
which may be subject to self-reporting bias.

5.Changing Context: The reasons for choosing


college majors can be influenced by rapidly
changing economic and societal factors, which
may not all be captured in this study.

6. Resource Limitations: The study’s depth and


breadth may be limited by available resources,
such as time, budget, and access to
participants.

Despite these limitations, this research seeks to


contribute valuable insights into the decision-making
processes of senior high school students regarding
financial accounting education and the potential
benefits associated with this career path.

Scope of the Study

This research aims to investigate the reasons


why senior high graduates should consider taking
financial accounting courses in college. The study
will focus on the following key areas:

1. Advantages of Financial Accounting: Exploring


specific benefits and advantages of pursuing
financial accounting as a college major for
senior high graduates.
2. Career prospects: Investigating the career
opportunities and long-term prospects available
to individuals with a background in financial
accounting.

3. Educational Awareness: Assessing the level of


awareness among senior high students regarding
financial accounting as a potential college major.

4.Perceptions and Influences: Examining the


perceptions and influences that shape the
decisions of senior high students when choosing
their college majors.

5.Challenges and Solutions: Identifying potential


challenges or barriers that senior high school
graduates may encounter when considering
financial accounting and proposing strategies to
address these challenges.
Significance of the Study

The decision of which college major to pursue is


a pivotal moment in a senior high student’s life,
shaping their future career prospects and personal
development. This study’s significance lies in its
potential to shed light on why financial accounting
should be seriously considered by senior high
students.

 To Students, this research aims to guide our


peers towards a path that not only promises
professional success but also fosters a
deeper understanding of the financial world
we all navigate, ultimately contributing to
our collective growth and prosperity.

By exploring the advantages of taking


financial accounting courses in college, we can
empower our fellow students to make informed
choices. Understanding the career opportunities
and financial stability associated with this field
can provide clarity and motivation.

Moreover, as the world becomes


increasingly financially complex, the knowledge
gained from financial accounting education
equips students with essential life skills, such as
financial literacy and critical thinking, which are
invaluable in today’s society.

Research Proposal
Introduction:
The transition from senior high school to
college is a critical juncture in a student's
academic journey. This research seeks to
explore and understand the reasons behind
why senior high graduates should consider
taking financial accounting courses in college.
Financial accounting plays a crucial role in the
business world, and an investigation into the
motivations and perceptions of senior high
students could provide valuable insights for
educational institutions, policymakers, and
students themselves.

Objectives:
1. To identify the specific skills and
knowledge that financial accounting
education offers to senior high graduates.

2. To explore the career opportunities and


advantages that financial accounting majors
bring to college graduates.

3. To examine the level of awareness and


understanding of financial accounting
among senior high students.
4. To identify potential challenges and
barriers faced by senior high graduates in
pursuing financial accounting as a college
major.

5. To assess the impact of financial


accounting education on the decision-
making process of senior high students
regarding their college majors.

Methodology:
This study will adopt a quantitative research
design, to provide a comprehensive
understanding of the factors influencing senior
high graduates to take financial accounting in
college.

Data Analysis:
Quantitative data will be analyzed using
statistical tools such as descriptive statistics
and correlation analysis. The data sets will
enhance the credibility and validity of the
study's findings.
Conclusion:
By understanding the factors influencing
senior high graduates to pursue financial
accounting in college, this research aims to
contribute valuable insights to educational
institutions, career counselors, and
policymakers. The findings could
ultimately assist in creating more informed and
supportive pathways for students as they
navigate their academic and professional
journeys.
