that complies with the General Standards and Rules and Regulations being
implemented on project site to ensure the Quality of work that will be made and
Safeness of all persons that will be involved in doing such activities.

This method statement is prepared for the provision of Air Handling Unit
of………………….Project to be undertaken by Italthai Engineering Co. Ltd.

2. SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement defies the delivery / handling, installation and Testing of Air
Handling Unit and Fan Coil Unit for………………..Project. This ensures all the

4.2 Preparation work.

4.1.1 Consider the weight of the unit. Appendix B has a
complete listing of all components operating weights.
4.1.2 Allow sufficient space for the recommended clearances, access
panel removal, and maintenance access. Refer to Figure.
4.1.3 Coil piping and condensate drain requirement must be considered.
Allow room for proper ductwork and electrical connections.
Support all piping and ductwork independently of unit to prevent
excess noise and vibration.

- Check builder’s work and installation location.

- Check setting out of pipes
- Check equipment type and model.
- Check visible damage of equipment
- Rotate fan blower by hand for abnormality check of blower and
housing.
- Ensure that there is no foreign material inside blower and housing.

4.3 Installation work.

Air Handling Unit shall be check when delivered, erection and installation
work shall be performed in accordance with consent equipment and working
drawing.
- Check dimension of unit base and mounting points unit handling LEFT or
Right for coil connections, drain etc. is expressed when facing the airflow
thru the coil

- Hang or mount air handling unit with rubber pads in its position. Fix bolts,
must and washers.
- Installation chiller water pipe and drainage pipe.
- Adjust air handling unit to meet drain water flow to direction of
condensate drain pipe.
- Chiller water pipes shall be protected insulation from direct UV exposure
4.4 Installation work.
- Protect the air handling unit from the damaged by the above working
with plastic sheet.
4.5 Installation work.
4.5.1 Duct Connections
All air ducts should be installed In accordance with the standards of Air
Conditioning and Ventilating System as per approved shop drawing and
discharge air duct connections to the unit should be made with a flexible
duct material as per material approved. Typically, about three inches is
needed for this connection to rigid ductwork. Avoid sharp turns and use
splitters or turning vanes when elbows are necessary. Make turns in the
same direction of rotation as the fan. Discharge Ductwork should run in a
straight line, unchanged in size or direction. Refer to Figure 5 and 6 for typical
duct work installation.

4.5.2 Coil Piping and Connection

General coil piping recommendation for typical cooling and heating coil piping.
Proper installation, piping and trapping is necessary to assure satisfactory
heating/cooling coil operation and to prevent operational damage. Water
inlet and outlet connections protrude through the coil section side panel.
Follow standard piping practices when piping to the coil. Note the following.

4.5.3 Piping Condensate drain Connection.

On cooling section the drain pan should always be connected directly to
a trap to ensure proper drainage of condensate. Failure to provide adequate
condensate piping may result in water damage to the equipment or building.
The drain lines and trap must be the same size as the drain connection.
Pitch the connection line horizontal or downward toward an open drain and
install a plugged tee to facilitate cleaning. Condensate line should not be
connected to a closed drain. This is to avoid the possibility of drawing
sewer gasses in to the unit.

Document No. : Effective Date : Revision :

Trap the drain line as shown in figure 7 for section with negative static
pressure. When more than one section has a drain pan, trap each section
individually. Do not connect all drains to a common drain line with only
one trap. Use the following drain connection recommendation.
4.6 Inspection and testing.
- The site engineer shall verify that all conduits equipment and
material are conformed to the specification before work
commences
- The site engineer or supervisor shall verify the construction drawing is
good for construction.
- The site engineer shall ensure that type of equipment to be
installed is in accordance with the specification.
- In function inspected of equipment visual check by site engineer; QC
engineer and MTL representative.
5. SAFETY
One of the main aspects of this procedure shall comply with the Safety, Health, and
Environment (SHE). This is to control the occurrence of injuries as well as damage
to equipment and properties during the entire construction period. To ensure a safe
working environment, the safety measures will be implements as follows.
 Preparation of Job Safe Analysis (JSA) and Work Method Statement to

apply for the work permit from SEA-Consult Engineering Co., Ltd. for
approval.
 An approved work permit, JSA, and Work Method Statement shall be
displayed in the working area.
 Before commencing any scope of work, the supervisor will carry out the
JSA at the job site with all personnel working on the scope of work shall
be present.
 Carry out Toolbox meetings with all personnel working on this
activity shall be present.
 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all-time in the
inclusive working zone or PPE zone.
 Provide the signage/barricades and marked tape with a warning
label in the exclusive zone to indicate a boundary of the working
area.

Document No. : Effective Date : Revision :

 Barricades / Signs shall be provided sufficiently and shall be

maintained as precautionary measures during the entire stage of
construction to protect the workers and safety for the public.
 Regularly checking in the inclusive working area shall be performed before
working.
 In the case of light failures during night shift work, barricades shall be
equipped with suitable light reflectors.
 Sufficient lightings shall be setup when working at night shift and night
shift workers must wear reflectors.
 Provide fire blankets and fire extinguishers in the welding area or the
places that fire may occur.
 Provide safe and suitable access for mobile crane, dump-trucks,
concrete mixer trucks, and other heavy type vehicles.
 Provide suitable ground and pads when setting up outriggers of the
mobile crane that is capable of supporting the crane load.
 All lifting and rigging equipment shall be inspected and shall obtain valid
certificate By ITE inspector and witnessed by Sea Consult Engineering
Co Ltd.
 Lifting equipment, as well as its accessories such as slings, hoists,
shackles, chain blocks, and crane hook, shall be inspected before use.
 Machines, equipment, and tools shall be certified by the qualified person
and must be inspected at the Jobsite to ensure that they are working
properly and efficiently.
 Periodic preventive maintenance shall be made to all machines and equipment.
 Operators and drivers shall obtain a valid license or permit from
certifying or affiliated agencies. Only authorized drivers or operators will
be allowed to operate machines or equipment.
 Flagman and Signalman/Bankman shall be trained and be certified to be
authorized to manage traffic flows and provide
coordination/communication with truck drivers, mobile-crane, and tower
crane operators.
