Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Teaching EDUC 1

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. identify Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development and important
concepts of Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of Development;
b. appreciate the importance of Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development
and Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of Development through giving
of real-life scenarios; and
c. create a graphic organizer out of the theories discussed.

II. Subject Matter


A. Topic: Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development and Vygotsky’s Socio-
Cultural Theory of Development
B. References: Corpuz, Brenda B. et. Al, (2010) Child and Adolescent
Development, Lorimar Publishing Incorporated, Quezon City, Manila,
Pgs. 111-124
C. Materials: PowerPoint Presentation
D. Values Integration: Demonstrate sensitivity towards individual’s
growth and moral reasoning.
E. Skills: Boost and develop student`s critical thinking skills, self-
confidence, creativity, and active participation.

III. Procedure
A. Preparation/Preliminaries
 Prayer
The teacher will ask someone to lead the prayer.
 Greetings
The teacher will greet the students and the students will greet the
teacher.
 Classroom management
The teacher will tell the students to arrange the column of their chairs.
Also, the teacher will implement classroom rules and regulation.
 Attendance
The teacher will check the attendance. Instead of saying “present”, the
students will say their “favorite person or most influential person of their
life.
 Recapitulation
The teacher will ask the students about the lesson last meeting.
B. Motivation
 The teacher will divide the class into five (5) groups.
 The teacher will present a particular dilemma to the class, and the
students will brainstorm solutions.
 The students will be given 8 minutes to brainstorm and 2 minutes to
share it to the class.
C. Presentation
The teacher will present the topic and learning objectives.
D. Discussion
 The teacher will discuss the Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral
Development; its introduction, level and stages.
 The teacher will discuss the Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory
(Social Interaction, Cultural factors, Language, Zone of Proximal
Development and Scaffolding)
E. Generalization
The teacher will ask the students this question:
“Cite how these theories of development- Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral
Development and Vygotsky’s Socio-Cultural Theory of Development can
be applied to your work as teacher later on?”

IV. Evaluation
Instruction: Create a graphic organizer out of the theories discussed.

V. Assignment

Read in advance the Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Theory and Pre-natal


Period. Share something about it in the comment box of our Google
Classroom.
