ABSTRACT

In this case study report, we have done a complete study about a small-scale plastic manufacturing
industry. The content in this case study is constructed from the practical visit of the site and a thorough
investigation of the process of making different kinds of plastics.

This abstract contains the details related to the findings of a research carried out on the manufacturing
process of plastic film rolls by biju plastic industry Pvt. Ltd. Our major aim was to develop and study the
feasibility of the use of automation in different processes during production which could finally result in
increased efficiency. Following are the information we can get from this research done:

• Knowledge about existing industrial system

• Knowledge about proposed system

• Performance of each industrial components

• Industry production

• Quality of products

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Making this particular Case Study was quite a bit of experience where we were dealing with the
improvements in the traditional industry system by the Microprocessor-based system. This particular
project gave us essence of teamwork and work division. It might overall look simple but is of great effort
from us. Presenting this Case Study gives lot more satisfaction to the whole team.

This case study was a great opportunity to enrich our knowledge of the manufacturing industry. This
case study was not like any other case study because we had to thoroughly observe the whole process
involved in the manufacturing process and at the same time find the defects and suggest solutions. For
the short run, we were able to covert our theoretical instrumentation understanding into real-time
problem-solving instrumentation systems and on the long run these practical skills are invaluable. The
project made us to observe several other Case studies and learn from them as well.

INTRODUCTION
Biju plastic industry pvt. Ltd. is located at Patan industrial area, Bagmati province of Nepal. This business
is for manufacturing plastic bags. Biju plastic industry is popular for polythene bag manufacturing
company around 50 years ago and business is running till date. We have visited Biju plastic industry
where we found about manufacturing process of plastic bag and working process of machine and tool
along with control system of machine. The plastic bag manufacturing process is divided into two step,
first is the manufacturing the plastic film and second one is using those plastic films to create the plastic
bag through mechanical process.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of the research is to have creative descriptive, analytical and explanatory understanding of
BIJU PLASTIC INDUSTRY PVT. LTD. Following are the main objectives of this study:

1. To boost up the technical skill with practical approach.

2. Practical implementation of knowledge and to expose ourselves in industrial environment.

3. To study the existing management system and technology of company.

4. To learn about electronics design using microcontroller and microprocessor in commercial field.

5. To observe the current system carefully and the problems encountered in the industry.

6. To propose solutions to boost the efficiency of the system.
